"Hmph!" Rielle was not amused at all by the Wanderer's reply.
Phantom77 wrote:"Ms. Rielle, I understand that you, in addition to this cloaked gentleman, were there to aid the princess as she was suffered from that masked assailant last night. I know that you also healed my wounds from our fight with the same assailant earlier that day. I...I just wanted to formally thank the both of you for your help."
Everyone was in awe at the Vampire's sudden display of gratitude. Even the White Witch was surprised but in the end, the students all felt it was necessary as the Princess herself also joined in the expression of thanks. "Hehe. Don't get used to it." Rielle smirked at the students. While it sounded like a light jape, it was more likely she meant it in the worst way possible.

What made the gratitude more confusing to Rielle was that they never brought up Peter's trial and her involvement in it. She thought that maybe they decided not to bring it up since it was clear they were on opposite sides in the affair.

"Sure bro, I'll testify. Just don't hurt me!" Erik replied, scared out of his wits.

Quirille sighed. "That was easier than I thought." She remarked. "What do we do with him now?"

In the end, the Wanderer turned down the students' offer to come with them to find the waiting room for the participants. He, however, offered to find the other two missing outside warriors and bring them back with him. But his last words are what left a rather strange impression on Felicie.

He uttered an old saying known by most vampires, and Felicie herself is no stranger. Her mother said it to her everyday before she went to school, in loving faith only a parent could give. Hearing some strange man say it made the young vampire feel...well, she really didn't know how to feel about it.

"Uh...thanks, I guess?" is all she was able to awkwardly mutter at the cloaked figure.

Ms. Rielle also acknowledged the student's gratitude for her assistance in the Word Play case. Though she replied with a jovial retort, something about it made the graduates feel uneasy.

"Well, I suppose that now that's settled we should begin getting ready for the competition?" said the princess.

"Sounds good to me." Said Anri in response. A few moments after, an voice could be heard throughout the citadel.

"Attention. All graduates participating in the festival tournament please report to rooms 2-A and 2-B on the third floor. Lord Tibrus and others working with the tournament committee will brief you on competition specifics and the new features of this year's fighting arena. I repeat, all participants
please head to rooms 2-A and 2-B on the third floor."

Everyone perked their ears during the announcement. Apparently the event was about to begin. Other grads could be seen making their way to stairs and lifts as they headed for the specified areas. Tension began to fill the air.

"Welp, you heard 'em. Time to go." Said Anri as she began following suit.

"It looks like the time has come. Sir Wanderer, I trust you will ensure that the other two arrive on time?" Said Princess Lisia to the cloaked one. As the princess was about to turn to the White Witch, an individual who appeared to be an official phased into view near the group.

The official's face was hidden by a strange mask that was riddled with peculiar tribal markings. "Ms. Rielle, as a special guest, I would ask that you come with me as I escort you to a meeting room for the outside participants." The masked fellow beckoned the magician to follow. The official then turned to the Cloaked Wanderer. "I'll leave getting the other two fighters in your hands Sir Wanderer. Ensure that you are not late, I'd hate for tardiness to be added to your sterling reputations." If Ms. Rielle agreed to follow, she would be taken along with the official in a veil of light.

"Enough dawdling, let's make haste!" Said Felicie brimming with excitement. "Coming Iva?" Said the vampire to her servant.

"The path is complex, yes. My mistress wanted to meet with you in private, so I'm afraid it is only natural." Replied Celice to Jonathan's inquiry. As the two traveled deeper within downtown, the hustle and bustling of the upcoming event began to fade into the distance. The only thing that could be heard at this point was silence.

Celice had lead the young mage down a series of twists and turns on their walk. It would make one wonder as to why someone would bother to go through the trouble. However, Jonathan would find that out soon enough.

After a little while, the lesser succubus lead Jonathan to what appeared to be an abandoned church. It appeared to have been out of use for quite some time. It was simple to hear the wind blow through its walls, and many of its stained glass windows were broken.

"We have arrived at our destination, Mr. Jonathan. My sincerest apologies for the long and convoluted path. Orders are orders..." Said Celice as she made a courteous bow at her guest. "Please, come with me inside. Within these hollowed out walls my mistress awaits your arrival. And, if she decided to come along, your sister Miss Dalia waits as well."

(Good to have you back Phantom!)

--- Citadel ---

The Wanderer saw the confusion in the vampires eyes but answered her thanks with a nod. His head turned slightly at the announcement, chuckling as he heard where the contestants would congregate. He looked to the princess when she asked about bringing the other swordsmen back on time, and was about to nod before the masked official suddenly appeared before the group. The fact that the official commented on his task without having heard it caused eyes to narrow under the shadow of his cowl. He turned back to the princess.

"Don't you worry, I'll bring them back." The man shifted his gaze about the group. "Till then."

With a nod a portal appeared behind him. With an about face the Wanderer walked through, the portal closing behind him. Opening another he appeared back on the roof of the courthouse, taking out his journal as he leaned against a chimney.
The tournament is about to begin, they're making last calls for the participants. Feel free to take a break to watch some of the tournament if you like. Let me know if anything comes up.

Closing the journal and stuffing it up a sleeve he soon vanished from the roof, only to reappear in an alley not far from where he could feel the other two swordsmen were currently. Walking out the alley the Wanderer began to move through the crowd, silently walking by curious gazes and hushed conversations. The topic that he heard however had to do with the case, or rather what was told by the officials... and the White Witch. It made the man hum to himself, thinking about what that woman truly wanted here. He had a few ideas but not enough to prove most.

Another thought was that if the gossip was already this far then there was a high chance that Peter's friend/guardian now knew about it as well. Oh well, when he gets a chance after the tournament he'll sit the man down and have a chat.

Turning a corner the Wanderer soon found his current charges in what looked to be a schoolyard, both looked to be meditating. He made a tiny flare of his aura as he strolled towards the pair, he knew what happened at times when interrupting someone's meditation unannounced with a tap on the shoulder and the like. A small flare would prove far safer for all parties involved. Stopping within a stone's throw of the pair the Wanderer coughed into a fist.

"It's time, they're calling all participants for the tournament."

--- Citadel ---

"You heard the announcement lass' and lads, let's get this place cleaned up before they start. You've all done good work, take your potions as you need them." The Architect turned to one of the other overseers. "I'll look over the final reports after the students have been briefed on the rules. I'll see you then."

Tibrus walked off, making his way through the corridors and up the stairs to the third floor, already seeing some of the students entering the chamber for the briefing. Entering himself, he passed the gossiping students making his way to the front of the room where some of the other officials were seated, waiting. A hush fell over the room as Tibrus turned to the students, looking at him.

"We'll start the briefing once everyone is accounted for. Keep talking amongst yourselves until then." Seeing them do so he turned to his fellow officials and sat with them for the wait.

"Event's this year are looking to be interesting, aren't they?" He looked at the pair, an elf in blue and a man in red, both mages from the Mages Guild.

"However, it would be bad if he told the guys that I used improper methods of investigation...", he added menacingly as he turn to Erik. "Okay, Erik, you should know by now that my partner and I are unorthodox by the standards set by the law enforcement.", he stated as WordPlay wrap an arm around Erik's shoulder to make sure he stay and listen to his words."So unorthodox that I would 'kindly' suggest that you never mention neither of us when you confess. The reason you decided to testify is that your conscience wouldn't let you live peacefully if you let an innocent man go for a crime he didn't commit. Now, there's a fine line between lying and withholding. Just don't mention my partner and I and everything is golden. Do you get that? We'll find you if you think you can just run from us.", WordPlay ask as he raised his fist to Erik to let him know that pain would be the punishment if the boy speaks of them in court. "Now, if you got that through your skull, get out of here and turn yourself in before I suddenly develop the urge to break bones.", he threaten the boy before kicking him out of the kitchen. "Well, I think that went well. What do you think, Quirille? Though, it was a pleasant surprise that you're willing to use physical force to get the answers.", he said to the alraune.

"Anyway, I should let my friend know of the development.", WordPlay stated as he pulled out the journal. In there, the Wanderer sent him a message that he can take a break now.
The tournament is about to begin, they're making last calls for the participants. Feel free to take a break to watch some of the tournament if you like. Let me know if anything comes up.
A break seems very appealing actually. He'll ask Quirille is she's interested in a fighting tournament. For now, he'll give the Wanderer the latest update in the investigation.
Hey man, awesome! I'll be sure to consider it! Anyway, here's the latest news. We found a guy named Erik that works at the Bannered Centaur that took a bribe in cleaning up the evidence from the room. Using our "unorthodox" method of persuasion, we talked Erik into turning himself in and testify against the Count for bribing him. However, the stuff he cleaned and took were sold off to a merchant so the evidence is pretty much gone.
With that out of the way, it's now time for him to ask Quirille out on a social gathering to the fighting tournament. "Hey Quirille, you wanna take a break from this investigation? Working is nice and all but we should definitely take a break to let our head cool off from the amount of info we got. There's a fighting tournament today, you wanna watch it with me? We could even do it platonically!", he added the last part as a joke.

"I highly doubt my sister would miss the tournament for another meeting. She's just that impatient when it comes to inaction. Anyway, I look forward in meeting your mistress. So much so, that I'm looking forward in meeting her. It's really a pleasant surprise to speak to her about becoming better acquainted.", Jonathan said to Cecile as he followed her inside the abandoned church.

"Man, I can't wait for the tournament to start!", Dalia said in excitement. In her mind, watching the tournament is a thousand times better than any meeting. She has always been a fan for entertainment that requires physical effort. It makes things so much intense. She's currently have a seat near the front of the stands. She wants to see the faces and features of all the fighters that's participating. That, and she's also hoping that there may be nudity when clothes are destroyed.

"It's about damn time.", Brandon muttered to himself as he got up from his seat. He stretched for a bit to loosen his joints before following the group. "Hey Luke, play time is over.", he stated to the noble as he sent his floating invention away. The tournament is close to starting. Let's hope that nothing stupid happen like yesterday. As he follow the group, he unconsciously stayed close to the princess as they made their way to the rooms.

(It continues...)

"Keith. Keith, wake up you insufferable dolt!"

"W-w-w-what?" Keith raised his head from a wooden table he was using to sleep. "Jeez, how long were we out?" He asked as his senses slowly came back to him.
"What do you mean 'we'? You were asleep for a few minutes." The sorcerer answered. "You fell asleep the moment we reached my current home."
"A few minutes?" Keith repeated. "No way was that a few minutes. Must've been a month or so."

"Never mind that, Keith." Zev'jul handed a scroll to the mercenary. "I need you to mail this to House Sivana."

--MEANWHILE--
Phantom77 wrote:"Ms. Rielle, as a special guest, I would ask that you come with me as I escort you to a meeting room for the outside participants."
"Sure!" Rielle complied almost immediately. "Take me away, Mister Official."

With that, the White Witch was away in a veil of light. However, none at the scene knew that a certain Nekomata had witnessed what Rielle was doing. She was supposed to be following an acquaintance of hers but now her priorities have shifted. Now she was going to pay a visit to the Citadel and watch the tournament. Perhaps invite one of its participants to a 'spar' of their own.

However, she realized there was no way she could challenge Rielle in public. She needed a more discreet way of contacting the dark witch. She left the scene wondering how to do just that. She was close. There was no way she was going to let this opportunity slip by.

--ELSEWHERE--

Erik fled, more for his life than to reveal Count Sivana's shady dealings. Whether he would tell the truth or not was to be found out later.
EndZoner wrote:"Well, I think that went well. What do you think, Quirille? Though, it was a pleasant surprise that you're willing to use physical force to get the answers."
"I just wanted it to be over with." Quirille replied. "Well to be honest he looked kind of wimpy so I thought some assertiveness was enough to get him talking." She admitted. "If he was any tougher, I doubt my little show would have worked."

"But hey, all's well that ends well."
EndZoner wrote:"Hey Quirille, you wanna take a break from this investigation? Working is nice and all but we should definitely take a break to let our head cool off from the amount of info we got. There's a fighting tournament today, you wanna watch it with me? We could even do it platonically!"
Quirille chuckled at the joke. "Thanks, but you go ahead." She replied. "I... have something I wanna do first. Now that I'm back here in Zauberheim."

The Alraune made her way out of the kitchen but not before some last words. "Oh and... thank you. You know, for everything you've done for me." Quirille expressed her heartfelt gratitude. One could make a tinge of a blush on her face. Some blossoming feelings perhaps? "But save me a seat, will ya?" She added. "Once I'm done, I'll try to catch up." And with that, Quirille was off to do some business with a certain individual. She meant no harm. She merely wanted to know.

Citadel: Room 2-A
---------------------

As the students made their way to the third floor rooms, they were told by officials which of the rooms each student would be assigned to. The group of graduates ended up being separated: with Lisia, Brendan, and Ivadi being assigned to room 2-A and Felicie, Anri, and Luke assigned to room 2-B. The vampire tried to make a scene when she was separated from her servant, but the officials weren't having any of it. Felicie deathly warned Ivadi not to fawn over any of the other female students in her absence. Her malice served to unnerve some of the move anxious students.

The trio that included the princess was seated in the room that held Sir Tibrus. After his first words, the students began speaking to each other. Some were excited and talked about battle strategies, others spoke about what they would ask for when they won.

"My apologies for Felicie's earlier outburst, Ivadi. I knew you two were an item, but I didn't know she was that attached..." Said the princess to the son of the Archmage.

There were some students who were gossiping about the three friends, trying not to make it obvious by whispering quietly. "Aww man, we gotta fight the princess? I'm more worried about getting in trouble with the royal family, much less actual combat." Said one student. "Isn't that Merlin's son? I'm surprised he entered, he usually seemed so shy and meek. Did his dad give him some kind of special tool?" Said another.

"If were talking tools, you should be more worried about that Valiquette kid over there." Said a student with a rather scruffy appearance. "I heard he's trying to make a business selling weapons. He's probably got all kinds of little toys to help him get cheap wins. Better keep an eye on him, never did trust that little brat."

Lisia frowned at some of the comments, but she retained her composure nonetheless. "So Ivadi, what do you plan to do if you win the tournament?" Said the princess as she tried to lift the mood.

Citadel - Unknown Room

Ms. Rielle would see that she had been taken to a room overlooking the arena. The bird's eye view these quarters granted was something to be envied, as one could see everything from here: from the stands to the grand stage that many a worker poured their hearts and souls into making.

"This will serve as your waiting room for the competition, Ms. Rielle." Said the masked official. "You can gaze upon the upcoming fights from here so as to scope out the competitors and their moves. Once the others arrive, I will explain in greater detail your role here."

The official then turned to the arena, where one could see workers gathering their things and making their way back inside the building. The spectators also started to flock in. "I do hope you've enjoyed your time here in our beloved kingdom so far, Ms. Rielle"

Abandoned Church

As Celice led Jonathan inside, one could hear the wind bellow in the silence. The floors made a unsettling creaking sound as they walked, and they made sure to look for any holes so as not to stumble. Eventually, they made their way to an altar. It was at this altar, sided by a pair of Dark Valkyries, that Jonathan's potentially new associate sat.

Her hair was long with a distinct deep magenta coloring, which she wore up in a ponytail. She wore a crimson slit dress that show much of her deep blue skin but left little to the imagination. Runic markings could be seen on her arms and legs, and her rather exposed cleavage. To the trained eye, one could see a powerful aura emitting from her body. Clearly this woman held quite alot of power.

This was indeed Artesia von Murach, one of the Zauberheim High Council and leader of one of the ruling families.

"Greetings young Jonathan. I am glad that at least you decided to take my invitation. Pity your sister doesn't seem to be the patient sort." Said the demon in an alluring yet powerful voice. "I understand that you two are here to represent the Mamono faction of Zaberheim. Well as I hope Celice has told you, I currently lead that faction in the hopes of having the kingdom dawn a more...sensual persuasion. What say you, young Jonathan. Shall we...talk business?"

As she spoke, Artesia licked her lips, rather aroused by the young mage's appearance.

Ivadi was a little upset that he would be separated from Felicie, but he understood. however he was a little unnerved with er demand and how she did it, but he did promise to follow that command as best as he can. "oh no it's alright, i understand, Milady is very passionate is all. besides she needs someone like me to help keep her in line." he said chuckling

hearing the others he was a little upset but he kept his composure as he listened to the princess "well if i win, i want to use it to help further my research. if it goes through it may well be a very helpful tool to not just mages but to anyone in general." he said

Brandon scoffed at the students who were gossiping. He'd heard worse in his lifetime and he's not going to amuse them by responding. With nothing better to do at the moment, Brandon decided to participate in the conversation between Ivadi and the princess. "To further your research? Huh, I would've thought you would ask to become a nobleman to get with Felicie and promote yourself from being her lapdog. Then again, you probably like her lap, don't you?", he teased the mage. "On the topic of Felicie, I'm surprised that it's only been a day that the two of you actually met. You must be real proud of yourself. Probably think you're a ladies man. No wonder Felicie got all possessive of you when she couldn't keep an eye of you.", he continued in his attempt to embarrass the mage.

WordPlay has no idea what's going through Quirille's head, but he understands that there's some business to be dealt with. It would be hypocritical of him if he tries to talk her out of it. Although, that doesn't stop him from worrying about her. Letting her walk on her own to deal with business, WordPlay casts a spell to make sure that Quirille stays safe.

Should the Alraune by the name of Quirille ever find herself in a situation that would cause harm to herself, she shall be transported to the location of the vigilante named WordPlay.

Watching the small parchment paper fly to where ever Quirille went, WordPlay made his way to where the tournament is being held. He'll be sure to bring snacks and save a seat for Quirille. By the way he was walking, he was in a cheerful mood. It's most likely that he finally found a good friend in a long time. Maybe now he doesn't have to work on his own when hunting down Orderites.

"Wooooow, not shabby, not shabby at all." Rielle expressed her amazement at the room. She immediately walked up to the room's edge and saw she could see almost everything, from the stands selling stuff to the arena of where the fights would take place to the seats of the audience who were going to watch the aforementioned fights. In fact, the audience themselves have began pouring in to fill the seats. "Hehe, you guys certainly have something here."

The official may not have meant it but the question made Rielle ponder for a while. "Yeah, sure." She gave a half-hearted answer.

--MEANWHILE--

Peter sat in the holding cell with Fallia. They were on opposite ends of the bench for obvious reasons. Two guards manned the cell, ready to act if something unruly erupts in the cell thanks to the chemistry within.

The accused student stared blankly at the wall. The Cloaked Wanderer promised that he would be released. It was only a matter of time. If only he knew of ways to pass it. He turned his head to briefly look at the accuser, Fallia, who was crumpled up with her head buried in her knees. He could ask her why she did what she did but he figured he was not going to get any sort of real answer from her. At least not in front of the guards.

Peter returned his gaze to the wall. He then realized that the tournament was going to occur any time now. He wondered if he would be released in time for him to watch. With how his luck was currently running, it was unlikely. He had wanted to watch the tournament. To watch his friends go at it and put on a magnificent and amazing display. He thought it was a shame. He wondered how Assassin was faring. The student was sure his hooded guardian would be worried sick. He wanted to tell Assassin to watch the tournament for him. Though for Assassin to relay what he had seen, they were going to need lots of paper.

It was then a couple of guards passed by the cell. Their conversation caught the attention of everyone in the vicinity.
"But is it true? This guy's Erik's ramblings about Count Sivana?"
"Not sure. But the trial definitely needs to hear it. There's already someone heading out to inform the Queen."
"Won't that wait until the tourney's over?"
"We'll all see."
