The new region has no name yet, but they revealed the 3 starters.

And lastly, water.

Grass type looks like a mole in a hood from hot topic. Fennekin however, definetly my first choice.

This just hit me, given that the grass starter is apperentally based off of a hedgehog, and the fire starter is based off of a fox...

Get them both and name them Sonic and Tails.

What I find od about the grass type is that for once, it isn't reptilian in some form. That and somehow, it looks like a 3-way between Oshawot, Bidoof, and Drilbur. Most likely be Grass/Ground, though I'll heavily surprised if somehow, it was Grass/Steel or Grass/Stone.

The water type I find fitting, though I wonder how this frog will look when fully evolved. Could easily be a pure Water type, though Water/Poison could work too.

As for the fire type... I may actually begin to hope that the final evolution won't be another Fire/Fighting type.

All typing is pure speculation.

We've already done the Water/Fighting thing in two different generations now. I might be completely off here, but I suspect a Water/Psychic coming from this new frog.

As for Fennekin, Fire/Flying. It's the ears that give me that impression.

Grass/Ground sounds accurate for our mole buddy, making water and fire minor issues. In fact, I think the only thing it would be weak to is ice and maybe bug.

It's been Fire/Fighting not Water/Fighting. Two other Pokemon were shown. Two Legendaries. A bird and a deer.

The fox kind of appears to be a psychic/fire hybrid considering the trailer. No interest in the water starter this time around, usually went for those, but eh, I broke that tradition in generation 5. :P

Apart from that, the whole thing looks pretty good. I might get it, if things are looking good further into the future.

I wasn't specifying starters. Toxicroak and Poliwrath. Both related to frogs too. I guess frogs just make awesome fighters.

Ah okay. Toxicroak is Poison/Fighting. Keldeo was Water/Fighting though. But I do see what you mean.

My friend told me about this before work started this morning and I was barely unable to contain my excitement about these games.

This should be the design of Pokemon Snap 2 if they ever decide to make it. I'd rather have a decent MMO version of Snap and Ranger.

Oy... Fire a minor issue? You've never chose Turtwig before huh? (Torterra is Grass/Ground).

This dual typing has 4 weaknesses.

-Ice (x4)
-Flying (x2)
-Bug (x2)
-Fire (x2)

(Yes, Ground does not supress Grass' natural weakness to Fire).

I've seen the short teaser and it looks quite nice at the moment, it will be 3D (even the battles that seem to replace the usual sprites for 3D models), and it seems that it will happen in a new region that... ugh... seems to be based on France.

Oh and the release will be worldwide this time. ^^

.P.S.: A non reptilian grass type starter? That's new.

For some reason, Froakie seems like the only frog pokemon I'd ever want to have on a team. I don't like Politoed or similar Pokemon, but Froakie just seems like one of those Pokemon that starts off cute and then turns into a badass.

Hmm.....maybe, you never know. There is one thing I don't like about pokemon and with each generation it gets worse and worse......I can't pronounce their names.....*Sad face*

I'm really not that concerned about the new roster of Pokemon. Chances are I'll only have 1 or 2 favorites out of the bunch. Like Volcarona.

No, what I really want to know is if we're finally going to get a Pokemon game with all 600 whatever. Though unfortunately, the new focus on better graphics will likely result in a loss of variety, since every Pokemon would have to be animated in 3D.

I sure do hope I'm wrong and they go the extra mile.

I would not mind seeing that but then again a giant game like that would have a lot of problems you know?

Don't fret Miss Lash, such things take time. You will given practice.

Now, depending on what I can find on the fire type, I might choose that one first... if I had a 3DS to even play this game when it comes out.

As for a larger game, not neccessarily. It all depends on how the game is set up.

Not surprising, but nonetheless awesome.
