Yeah or Nintendo might go for 6 month remakes next. It's not even about money for me (I have never even bought a Pokemon game, always was a gift from a friend), it's about the game being changed so much for no reason at all and makes me feel like the original experience was a waste when a "better" experience is now available.. I don't know if anyone can understand that.

I don't mind real remakes that fix a game that was broken or needed a serious overhaul to stay modern or relevant (Hyper Dimension Neptunia first recent example that comes to mind). Ultra isn't even a real remake and barely could be considered even a DLC, it's more like a patch. Not like any of my criticism matters on an unrelated forum that's about monster girls..so I'll stop there.

And Crystal is coming the 3DS virtual console in January...

Definitely makes me believe emulators make no difference.

Nintendo's greed is CRYSTAL clear

If I'd known that beforehand I wouldn't have bought the Gold version...¬¬#
Definitely gotta hate how Nintendo ALWAYS pulls this kind of exasperating stunts off.

I guess it's nice of them to FINALLY release it in an attempt to drain a measly additional amount of 10 € (12 $) from their fanbase, but as I said before I don't need the same game TWICE.

.P.S.: I wonder if they will also release Celebi for the western versions too... (there's no confirmation so far).

The trailer I saw said you would be able to encounter Celebi.

Yeah... Of course they did tell us that.
Serebii wrote: This will have connectivity with the Generation 7 games and also encounter Celebi within the game. In the Japanese version, when you beat the Elite Four and go to the Pokémon Communication Center in Goldenrod City, you'll be gifted with the GS Ball. It's currently unclear what the method will be in America and Europe
And not even Nintendo nor Gamefreak know how on Earth will NONJapanese players will find it.
How am I supposed to believe a mere sentence from a less than one minute trailer that does not solve nor reveal anything? (The only thing I know and I've been told (once again not by Nintendo nor Game Freak) is Japanese players will get it exactly as it happened 17 years ago).

For all we know it could end up easily been scrapped from the final western versions once again (let's not forget that we never got to have it back then).

Yeah, I'm with Kaijin on this one. Bought Silver to play during the winter.... next day they announce Crystal, which I was kind of given up hope on being released.

Lucky me I seriously procrastinated on getting either of them so now I can just go with Crystal. :D

...sigh...

Way to go, rubbing even more salt into an open and bleeding wound... (I already said it in the past, but boy... you sure are a natural at this).

Anyway... Thanks to Nintendo's neverending greed, I'll just go and enjoy my golden experience to the fullest.

Even though I gotta admit that building a team in Gen II is way harder when compared in Gen I, and grinding is a nightmare (there are no good grinding spots in Johto at all)... Not to mention that friendship evolutions are a pain in these games (the Soothe Bell was introduced on Gen III).
But even with all those flaws I'm really enjoying the experience (Gen II is one of my favourite gens after all) and it feels nice to FINALLY train a Mareep in the generation it was introduced (Mareep didn't appear in Crystal).

Thought about getting gold and silver on the eshop as well but managed to buy soulsilver instead around that time and so held off. Crystal is still a nice surprise but I don't know if Ill even spend the $10 to get it considering Silver and Crystal are somewhat the same game.

So, new pokemon games have been announced for the Switch.

I'm gonna miss Pokémon wild battles, that's for sure...
If this game is (heavily) inspired and using models from Pokémon GO, does that mean that at some point Gen II pokémon will be making an appaearance in it?

Agreed, but one thing I've found out about is these are a YELLOW remake and the next core pokemon wont launch until the second part of 2019. So, there's that. As for me, I might pick up Eevee but I'm really on the fence with these games.

You can transfer Pokemon from GO to Let's GO so the game may only have Gen 1.

On the fence and especially not happy about it only being Gen1, but I'll probably try it if I can.

That's precisely why I asked.
In Pokémon Go you can capture pokémon from both Gen II and III.
With these games being an (unnecessary) remake of Pokémon Yellow, the most logical conclusion is the only Gen I pokémon will be making an appearance...
...However it wouldn't be the first time that Game Freak altered a pokédex for a remake, for instance in Heart Gold/Soul Silver they revamped the pokédex into a "Neo JohtoDex" that included several pokémon hailing from Sinnoh (such as Yanmega, Mamoswine, Lickylicky...).

So I wouldn't be specially surprised if they decided to add some Gen II mon into the game such as the baby forms for Cleffairy, Jigglypuff, Electabuzz..., some Gen II mon that were Kanto exclusive (such as the Houndour evolutionary line) or even evolutions of Gen I mon that were introduced in later generations such as Crobat, Scizor, Magnezone, Electivire, Magmortar...

Anyway... I'll be keeping an eye on this game from a distance, since I don't consider buying a Switch just for this game (only Shin Megami Tensei V would make me consider getting one).

Glad to mention that SMT V is coming then. It's why I have a Switch. ---->

What has me most interested in the Switchmon is the co-op system. Since I have a dedicated Pokémon buddy who lives and breathes Pokémon and memorized everything about them, I'll probably never get stopped being bothered to try the co-op! We are mostly concerned about the difficulty. If it's too easy, I'll probably get bored fast.

And I wonder if that grass monkey is a funky monkey.
