I'll have to go check that out. Beaten Ultra-violence mode a couple days ago.
And holy fuck they weren't kidding about Ultra-nightmare, died 60 seconds into combat... and the fact a few youtubers had BEATEN IT IN 5 HOURS two days after release...that's quite the feat.

Ah so you did get it, sounds like you enjoyed it a lot! How long did it take you to beat? How would you rate it out of 10?

*Critic mode on*

Yes I enjoyed it alot.
2 days (16 hours) on Ultra-violence (Chose that difficulty first because I'm no stranger to the previous Doom games)
7/10, Single Player campaign is amazing, but multiplayer was very dull (too much reminiscence of Quake Arenas), uninspiring if not very elitist in nature (You will have a rough start playing since most players are leveled up very early...). I still have to checkout the snapmap though.
Glory Kills are pretty much recommended to do to keep health replenished (More health is dropped if lifebar is critical
Both kills AND deaths are interesting to see, be it myself or the demons, and the hidden easter eggs are fun and hilarious.
Spoiler: show
if you try ultra-nightmare, you MUST find those easter eggs to increase your chance of survival, trying to playthrough without those upgrades will sign your own death warrant

So average all around? Or is that lowered because of the multiplayer? After playing Brutal DOOM I'm used to the melee kills, and I read they were important. Still curious what the modding community will do to help this game. The DOOM mods made the old DOOMs amazing. You need to try harder to get that Brutal DOOM working so we can coop it up Pierce. :)

Oh yea, I heard multiplayer was bad. I never thought to buy it for that. Overwatch will handle my multiplayer fps needs. :D

The Shores of Hell and Inferno levels were always my favs. Oh, and Map 16 in DOOM2. The redder and demonic the better, they were so freaky! DOOM3 was just too freaky for me though, Flashlight Simulator also drove me crazy.

The score, and I empathize final score remains at 7/10
Furthermore, tried the Snapmap feature, great for Coop gameplays, but bad lagging ruins the fun if the host has an awful connection.
Spoiler: show
Kinda freaky to do a Labyrinth run trying to find the exit while being chased by IMMORTAL BARONS OF HELL...
If I really want brutal doom to work, I'll have to get back Windows 7, so my other Steam games can legitimately run right.
(Currently on Tablet XP and I dislike it atm)

They probably added these because Brutal DOOM had them, and they were popular. I don't care much for them myself though, seems like a waste of time. I don't like my character being taken over for a second every time I want to heal up. Still, small gripe considering how great fun the game looks.
If not, then just use explosives, or close range shotgun blasts, gets the same results, just a bit less easily.
To find him, you must forget the stories...

Forget the legends...

You have to do more than walk in his footsteps...

For he is more than the sum of his actions...

I tell you this, not because I trust you...

But because all our lives are at stake...

Because the seeds of our future... are sown in his past...

They also have Runes to 'speedup' said finishers, but different strokes for different folks.
Spoiler: show
God I love the Rich get Richer rune, unlimited ammo if armour value is above 75. Only thing left I'm doing is exploring the maps when I'm finished killing demons. In addition, glory killing does lose its touch as the health drops are based on how much life you have left. Critical health drops alot, but having half or more only gives a couple.

Can't do a full $60, but will get it eventually. Hopefully can discuss more detailed then. :) Also looking forward to mods.

SOOO stoked about this game! Unfortunately I won't be able to get it until late summer, near August maybe. In the meantime I've been playing the series, Doom, Doom II which I'm in the middle of, Doom 3, then just for kicks I'll play Brutal Doom cause why not?
