Yeah, but at least, some companies just put all of these stolen ideas together in a way that the result ends up different, or even better, than the original ideas.

However, these chinese companies merely grab the game, slap a different coat of paint on it, and that's that.

And also, just for fun, I'll leave this here:

I just LOVE how these guys described the game...

Yeah, I know. I wanted to say A LOT more but, that would be going to go way too off topic, so I stopped. As many times, you were thinking in a similar way. :)

Blizzard did say that the game world and the actual game are meant to be separate. The TF2 comparison I had cooking in my head died after my first game though. I see a lot of inspiration for sure, but definitely not directly comparable. TF2 games are, in my opinion, more varied, because of all the gameplay modes (infinite games, fast respawns, custom maps, etc.).

OW is a lot more narrowed down to exactly to what Blizzard wants, with zero varied gameplay options unlike TF2. I loved TF2 for years, but TF2 was hurting in many ways, and Blizzard covered a lot of holes in fpses in general and tried to cater as many people as possible.

The inclusion of female characters is probably one of the best changes. The explosion of fan arts says it all. The all men TF2 squad got boring. :) Oh yea, and apparently one (or more?) of the characters in Overwatch is "not heterosexual", so a lot of people are excited about the GLBT inclusion as well.

I see Overwatch as a direct rippoff of TF2. The inclusion of things like female chars are not a sufficient change to say it's really a different game, but they do give the game a charisma that TF lacks.

Which is interesting because plays completely against the gaming media narrative that gamers hate women ehem ehem

I'll end my thoughts on TF2 vs OW with this final post:

As a person who has been playing QWTF since 1996, I can say OW is very refreshing, and no, not just the females (though as everyone knows, they did add a lot of new FPS fans- I already know several females who agree, hehe). TF2 felt like a step down to me from Day 1, biggest reason- because it removed grenades and other skill based gameplay. QWTF is still my favorite shooter of all time and always will be. Only quit because there was no more servers haha. Main gripe was all the damn cheaters it had. :/

I did some years of ETF (Enemy Team Fortress) to fill the void for a bit, but it also was shut down. TF2 never filled that hole, but OW did. Not to say I didn't enjoy TF2 for a good while, however. Once all the cash shop crap and hat mania came along I got bored. I think the Demoman vs Soldier contest was the height of my TF2 days. I'm glad OW came around to save my FPS thirst (and MOBA too, good bye LoL) I needed a new FPS with more characters to enjoy. TF2 just didn't do it for me. I would love a TF3, but that won't be for a looooong time. Valve kind of lost my respect after the HL2 Episode 3 debacle.

TF2 is still a different beast than OW, in my opinion. There's no Reinhart. There's no DVA. There's no flying Medic. There's no giant monkey. There's no Zarya. There's no high tech bard. There's no Buddah bot. There's no ninja. You don't have to kill yourself with a rocket to get height, you have a jet pack. Wow! All new, all fun. There is a class for everyone in OW. I'm just glad things are finally moving on from the TF2 era. After 9 years, man...I needed something new. That Orange Box is going to remain a my collectable shelf forever though. :D

No one will deny that Overwatch was inspired by Team Fortress and MANY other things though. I've already seen some Borderlands, Portal, S4 League, CoD, Clint Eastwood (lol) etc. in the mix. Blizzard is just doing what they do best - using the best to make something better. They did the same with WoW when they dethroned Everquest. Everquest still has loyal players though, and so will TF2.

LONG LIVE OVERWATCH AND BLIZZARD!!! :happyness:

Well. Ace Bought the Game on the launch date, thinking that it might be an interesting buy...thus far hes logged in 5 hours, and I've got close to twenty. thus far i love the game, and its characters. I tend to be rather bad at most shooters/ shooter type games , but begin able to take on other roles and cap objectives rather than take out enemies is rather nice for me. I tend to Tank, usual Going with Reinhard and D.Va, though I'm quickly growing to love Mei as well <3

Also i recently did a full Reaper run and this is a pretty accurate Description of how it went.

It's amazing that they introduce a scene of a huge battle against hundreds of killing robots armed with miniguns and missiles and yet not a single human is shown to die XD

So, Bastion used to be some sort of hostile killbot, but now he's a protector of nature?

Is he a hero? A villain? Or Nature.

Found this yesterday, makes sense to me:

Was hoping for more voice interactions between Bastion and Zenyatta, even if it was mostly Zen doing the talking.
Guessing there will be some between Reinhardt and Bastion with the new map coming up. :3

(but the feels of that short still get to me man...daym ;-; )

Can't agree on Mcree though, neutrals don't really care about justice do they? He's called a vigilante in game, so I'd say he's more of a chaotic good (since he shoots to kill) like 76. Symmetra seems more so Lawful Neutral. She's autistic and thinks the best way for peace is with control and order. Widow is a programmed killer against her will, how can one say she is truly evil? The rest sound okay. I'd call Mercy Neutral Good, since she saves everyone she feels like.

What do you mean, Widowmaker is a 'programmed killer'?

Overwatch Wiki, Widowmaker article wrote:After several unsuccessful attempts to eliminate Gérard, Talon decided to change its focus to his wife, Amélie. Talon operatives kidnapped her and subjected her to an intense program of neural reconditioning. They broke her will, suppressed her personality, and reprogrammed her as a sleeper agent.
There ya go.

So, if one was able to restore her previous personality, to a degree, she might be a good character?
