I thought her entry was directed to fans that imagine their toys coming to life. What potential do you think was wasted? What is a desu fest?

Look for Rozen Maiden on YouTube and it will give you a good idea. :hehe:

Are you referring to the wasted potential or the "desu fest"? I have heard of the anime but have not watched it, so I'm not sure of the popular themes that may be associated with it.

The desu fest...^^U

As for the other... I seriously don't know what to tell you.
I just feel that there are like dozens of depiction of living dolls anywhere... from games to anime, to anime to fairy tales, from fairy tales to cinema... And so on... And this one compared to each and every one of them sounds and is completely dull and lackluster.

This entry mainly appeals to two sectors of Kenkou's fanbase: those with big brother complex (which...I'm included) and those pervy enough to grab their figurines and look their panties at the first chance they get (and I know a few people like that in real life...x_X).
And in the first case... There are plenty of others who pull off the trick way better than her: Alice, Baphomet, Witch, Arc Imp...

The only original things (and somewhat interesting) are her "Alice" making method/manneuver (which makes her kind of overpowered) and the fact that she's one of the few monsters who openly teams up with other monsters (to the point of event sharing her target of affection even...).

I won't butt in to smash other people's likings (to each their own), but to me she's nothing but a shadow of what she could have been.

I'm in both of those areas myself to be honest... Speaking of Alice I'm glad that we have someone who make more of them.

What makes them special and unique is how rare they are. They're so rare that they can even be regarded as a miracle.
If there's someone or something to spawn (or convert like in this case) them, that part of her allure would be pretty much lost.

But of course I doubt that loli lovers would ever worry about that kind of details (to them the more lolis around the merrier).

I do have to wonder if the Living Doll can effect other loli MGs and make them Alice hybrids.

The playthings of children.
And the lovers of the adults.
Seeping their energy into your brain.
Up rooting your thoughts until you can only look at them.
Give them your love.
They'll give you pleasure.
What could be wrong about that?

I saw this on ANN:

Shinku Ceramic Doll

Thought it was pretty cool. Worth the 150 USD? Dunno, you'd probably have to ask a Rozen Maiden fan that.
