Now its just time we wait for him to do something famous like a Inugami, Satori, kirin or a nue. Or where's our Norse monsters?

Besides the satori, I totally agree with you.

If you're talking about MGU, don't worry Perentie went to MGR and puts the translations from Brolen there now.

Idk about this one...the tongue is unnerving for me. I'll just wait for the full translation.

I'd have to agree, the tongue looks too messy for me. ^^; Makes me wonder why it is so long in the first place.

don't most Tsukumogami have long tongues? anyways no one would defeat an Akaname for the longest tongue :happyness:

Hmm, not EXACTLY, but it IS a common trait showed in most of them.

There are MANY MANY variants of Tsukumogami; in Japanese Folklore pretty much any object you can think of could become one. From your shoes, your clothes, your silverware- Hell! I've seen texts about the existance of Shoji (Those sliding paper doors) Tsukumogami, so maybe even your doors and windows could become one.

Still, more than long tongues, the most common trait pretty much every Tsukumogami has is their eye. And note that I speak in single person because it was usually just one, although there are some, like the aforementioned Shoji Tsukumogami that could have as many eyes as the door had paper squares.

But anyway, back to this lovely umbrella. I wonder if she'll share the Chochin-Obake's characteristic of having a personality determined by the way it was treated by its owner. I just hope that there's something that differences her significantly from the Chochin-Obake, because it would just not be nice if all of the Spirit Artifact family were the same monster with different looks.

Not necessarilly, while in Japanese folklore most (if not all) of them are depicted with a long tongue, when used in other settings they can lose this trait if the author/artist sees it convenient.

Chochin Obakke in Japanese folkore, now compare it with MGE's take on it.... Do you see a difference?

.P.S.: Ninja'd...Joy...x_X

Having personally expected the big 150 to be some sort of boss monster, or an upgraded version of a prior mon, I can say that I at least have been (pleasantly) surprised to some degree.

I would love to see any of those become MG's. Especially the satori, given how much I adore the Komeiji sisters.

translation is up on redux for those who want to read it and can't wait the 7 days.

For the record, the wait was reduced to three days (or even zero). Dragonstyrke isn't posting it up immediately purely out of respect for MGR. (If this was changed, feel free to correct me please!)

Sorry for the wait. I have been really busy with work and other stuff. Anyway, the translated profile is up on the first post. Enjoy!

So... Speaking of the translation now, is completely fair game I guess... right?

She's pretty faithful to the usual take on the Tsukomogami, and the yandere-ish twist than mistreated Karakasas are bound to experience is actually a quite clever (yet fully expected) touch.
I'm not fond of the buff of epic proportions experienced by them though (I mean a straw umbrella able to withstand swords and magic as if they were nothing? that's not an umbrella... that's an umbrella shaped Aegis shield..^^U)

Oh my...so she has two sides to herself I see depending on the care she's given.

So if she was raised nicely and lovingly, she becomes a devoted, unyeilding servant of pleasure who will taint their caretakers with unimaginable carnal pleasures...

While being mistreated will turn them into even more devote lovers to the point that they're psycological stability sways WAY off the sane chart and just rub their moist groin at their lover, it's wetness surpassing even her tongue's wetness...

In short...
Take care nicely: "You took such good care of me...I want to repay your kindess with my body..."

Take care poorly: "Hehehe...I'll show you just how useful I am to you, I'll make sure I drive you mad with love until it's etched and burned into your head..."

Now...where can I find an umbrella to mistreat XD

Add that to the list of things I though I'd never hear said.

I like the Karakasa-Obake quite a bit. Makes me want to see fan art of her as other umbrellas. Though I do have to wonder if they all wear sandals or all the footwear keep the stilts.

I guess that pretty much that depends on the umbrella/parasol they were before gaining life.
I don't picture a western styled umbrella wearing geta for instance...
