Nope, more like a form of beam cannons which can be fired on any ships, etc.. Who attempt to attack their shores. As a result, Zipangu does not really get bothered much by the Luminaire who have possibly been on the receiving end of a warning blast before. Remember this technology dates back to the Age of Marvels, think of Scrapped Princess if you have ever watched it. The one kingdom was in control of ancient technology, yet did not necessarily understand fully how it worked.

When Hood said they had machine guns I was like "That's O.P." but I kept it to myself because it might not be so bad.

But now that you said they have LAZORS, they're basically the Protoss on WarCraft. If this was a videogame, Zipangu's broken as heck.

They do not have personal cannons or anything like that, what I am saying is that due to their diligence, the weapons are still usable, to a degree, they have no way though to replicate them, regardless of the records they may have. I also want to point out that the weapons are fixed, a structure built into a mountain with the Temple of the Sun built around it.

I guess that makes it a little not O.P. but still, them Zipanguese can shoot down any ship they want. I'd be scared s***less if I knew the ship I'm on can get blown up without warning.

Just what kind of relationship do the orphan children have with their new momsters? Do they freak out the first time they see their new moms?
I always thought that their relationship might be as deep as a biomom and her own child thanks to demonic energy (although your setting is different) and both mother and child are capable to feel or sense each other mood and/or feelings.

Also, are the zipanguese the only ones with tech from the age of wonders?
There are those who would scorn good-natured people. Even if God himself will
not show his face, a heartful person will one day take God's place in
visiting Judgement upon them. This is what is known as "Divine Retribution"

No I mean...

Zipanguan foreigner: Would you like to visit our country?
Me: No thanks. I'd rather not get blown to bits.

They have the largest amount, but otherwise there are others who have too. Just read Taking Chances by Boomerangflash to see that there are people learning how to use tech from the Age of Marvels. Their relationship is that deep, but it is earned, a wand of demon energy is not waved so that everything is great all of a sudden.

Will you add info in the future about each one of the queens? I'm pretty interested in the Bovitaureae Queen, the Suucubi Queen and the Sorceress which could be even more powerful than the Maou. Also, did your Sorceresses (is that the right word?) are based on Dragon's Crown's Sorceress?

Yes I will, by the way, the Sorceresses are based more around the Puella Maji Madoka Majika concept of Witches.
Spoiler: show
Magical Girl

Majin Type
Habitat: Human Settlements, cities, towns.
Disposition: Gentle, loving, just, conflicted, "Possibly strong-willed."
Diet: Human Food, Spirit Energy

Appearing as youthful teenage girls, Magical Girls were once human girls until being offered the chance to gain magical powers necessary to fight against the Demon Lord's minions. In exchange for this request, consenters would also have their greatest desire fulfilled for them. This however is merely a deception perpetuated by the Demon Lord's daughter Lokaelei as the "Demon Lord's minions" are nothing more than her own dissenters.

The range of Magical Girl types is wide and varied, their appearance and abilities being governed by their interests and their hearts. For this reason, no two Magical Girls look alike, the "magical powers" granted to them are in fact merely demon energy and the change from human to majin does not take long to manifest. Yet another unknown side effect is that Magical Girls find themselves caught in constant conflict between their desires and those warped by demonic energy. If a magical girl gives in to the demon energy inspired thoughts she will become a Sorceress, this transformation is usually brought on by depression, dejection or even lasciviousness. A Magical Girl may develop these emotions due to rejection by a love interest, learning the truth about their benefactor or simply by losing control of their behaviour in favour of lust. Magical Girls first appeared during the period known as "The Time of Upheavals" as increasing numbers of mamono turned against the Demon Lord.

Magical girls rely on human foods in general, but once they find a male they like, they will also partake in consummations of their love, gaining spirit energy through kisses, embraces and more. These beings are secretive about their natures, often living with their family members who may never known that their daughter has changed until the day they go on a big mission. A subtle charm magic exuded from their bodies will make their family accept that their child will be performing such missions. A strong-willed Magical Girl can remain a Magical Girl for the rest of her days, even after learning the truth of her situation, these girls will go on to challenge the Demon Lord herself.

Sorceress

Majin Type
Habitat: Pocket planes
Disposition: lustful, devoted, stubborn, loving.
Diet: Spirit Energy

Once Magical girls, Sorceresses appear as a more mature looking image of their previous form. Sorceresses live in pocket planes constructed entirely around their likes and dislikes. A Sorceress's clothing strongly resembles that which they loved when they were Magical Girls. They are also known to display their names in a strange, ancient language. Although preferring their pocket planes or alternatively named "Perception Baubles," it is not uncommon for these mamono to wander between cities in search of a potential mate. These beings put out incredible levels of demon energy as they maintain their home.

When a magical girl falls to demon energy, she releases an immense amount of energy, this energy forms a pocket plane known by Magical Girls as Perception Baubles. Perception Baubles are whole worlds centred around the likes and dislikes of a Sorceress. No two Perception Baubles are the same, however the typical structure of a Perception Bauble usually follows this theorised pattern;

Image

The Sorceress always resides in the Central Nexus of the plane and it is said by those who have escaped that memories of past events, in fact, a Sorceress's soul is laid bare for any who enter this region to see. Perception Baubles are often imperceptable to humans and mamono alike making them incredibly dangerous places. A mamono accidently entering one of these planes may find herself lost and will eventually become a part of the world itself, living her life in an unchanging world. This is only applicable if she has not wandered into an area centred around a dislike, as these places are literally life threatening.

Sorceresses hold a certain level of contempt towards Magical Girls whom they feel steal potential husbands with their enticing, youthful appearance. It is well known that the two frequently clash over men and the effects of their bubble like pocket planes.

Once a Sorceress finds her fated man, he may never leave her realm again. Though stubborn, these mamono can learn to return to their former personalities, however they will never become a Magical Girl again. Sorceresses are however capable of giving birth to new Magical Girls, who will eventually become Sorceresses themselves.

Re: The Praxis Compendium - Glossary of Terms

Post by Raet »

Glossary of Terms

A collection of terms and their meanings, considered pertinent to the world of Praxis.
The River of Tears

A river located within the Demon Kingdoms. Running through the lower regions, the mouth is located along the southern coast of this region and a short distance north of the villa owned by Seretique vi Alloriel. When the Demon Lord Seretique vi Alloriel first cast the Grand Changing, monsters (now known as mamonme) eagerly grabbed husbands to ravish with their amorous intentions. There was a problem however, the mamonme race was still young and had no appreciation for their own strength, as such most husbands did not live as long as they intended, much to the heartbreak of those who had finally found what they thought to be their own sliver of Heaven.

It is not clear who was the first, but mamonme who had experienced this loss began to mourn their loved ones at the side of this river, their tears contaminating it with their energies. As time went by, mamonme learnt how to control their strength and husbands lived till an old age before passing on. This however brought about a new issue, mamonme oft outlived their partners, or could not follow their departed spouse to Heaven due to the then negative relationship between Seretique and the Celestial Host.

Nowadays however, with the improvement in relations between Heaven and the mamonme people, the Principal God Eiraiha's blessing of the "Rite of Soul Cleaving" and most recently, the admittance of mamonme to Heaven, the cases in which a pilgrimage has been made have decreased dramatically. There are however small shrines and chapels interspersed at points along the river's banks for those who have committed deeds they are ashamed of.
Spume of Creation

A term used by mamonme to express extreme disgust for a being. This term can be applied to human males, females and even mamonme themselves. Spume of Creation is not a term which is taken or used lightly, thieves who steal because they have no other way to survive are not considered Spume of Creation, those who have harmed someone unintentionally and even an army following orders which might cause sorrow, are not considered Spume of Creation either. Those however who willfully plot to bring about the demise of someone, murder, steal from or trick families into parting with their valuables for the sheer pleasure of watching them fall into misery, are those who would be the recipients of this title.

An example of a person given this negative epithet would be a certain woman married to a wealthy husband in an undisclosed city. Her sole pleasure in life was to charm young men into courting her, she would play the kindest, most interesting woman around and would eventually even share a bed with her intended mark. This however was all for one purpose, to destroy the individual when on their next meeting she would introduce her husband and claim she had been assaulted by said individual. The pleasure she would gain from the horror on the young men's faces was the real reason she went about these activities. Such behaviour is the type which would get one labelled as Spume of Creation.
Spiritus

A form of energy found within all humans, Spiritus is not to be confused with Aelan Vitale or "Life Energy(Life Force)". Spiritus is literally energy created from interactions between the brain and soul, while Spiritus can be channelled by experienced mages, etcetera, it is found predominantly in the seminal fluids, saliva and sweat. All of the original races created to live on the firmament such as humans, alva, fae, merfolk, naga and dwarves possess their own inherent forms of Spiritus, yet humans are the only ones whose Spiritus is completely compatible with the other races. Spiritus can be influenced primarily by thoughts and deeds and as such becomes less pure as a person performs wicked acts or entertains dark thoughts. For example; A human who gains great joy and pleasure from the suffering of others would have impure Spiritus while those who help others, without expecting a reward, are the people most likely to have pure Spiritus. Being involved in a relationship with any of the Celestials such as Gods, Goddesses, Angels, Valkyriar, Seraphims, Amori, Mahoumet and Cherubim will in fact purify and strengthen Spiritus even further.

As mentioned before, Spiritus can be channelled in the form of magic, but what is not always mentioned is that it may also be channelled when performing activities such as cooking or the preparation of food. One who prepares food with love and care will channel Spiritus without realising it making the food even more delectable than it should be. It should also be mentioned that heartfelt embraces will also channel Spiritus between those involved.

Humans who have become subverted into that of Incubi, also produce Spiritus, however this Spiritus is tainted and is incompatible with mamonme, save for those who originally subverted them. As such Incubi oft pursue relationships with human women. In recent times, with the cleansing brought about by the Principal Goddess Eiraiha, the taint has been removed from the aforementioned Spiritus leaving it as a neutral force. Though neutral, this Spiritus is still incompatible with any mamonme but the one in a union with her partner.

It must be addressed however, that there have in fact been rare instances of human women born with Spiritus similar to that of human males and as such have had to deal with mamonme in their own ways.
The Citadel of Desires

A fortress located in the heartlands of the Demon Kingdoms, it is Seretique vi Alloriel and her family's place of residence and as such is the nerve centre of both the military and the Demon Kingdom itself.

It is believed that this massive and yet beautiful keep was built during the Age of Marvels as a sanctuary for those who had recently accepted the feelings of an Angel of Mercy. It was also the home of the then leader of the Angels of Mercy who would continue to send out those who had not yet engendered themselves or found a partner to help those still requiring their assistance. Due to the period in which it was built it is believed that there may still be caches of technology from the Age of Marvels hidden within its walls.

After the Angels of Mercy were first subverted towards the latter part of the Age of Qualms, Demon Lords dwelt within the keep, treating it as their base of operations. As such they oft gave the structure hideous names which evoked fear in many a soldier forced to attack it. Seretique vi Alloriel's first edict when taking up the mantle of Demon Lord was to rename this fortress to the Citadel of Desires and the name has largely remained the same since. The fortress is quite difficult to attack from the ground and as such many a Luminairian assault has failed. One must remember though, that the fact that the Principal God Eiraiha attacked by Herself and reached Seretique's throne room is merely a testament to her prowess and tenacity in combat.
Magic

Magic or Magique as some like to refer to it, is a force which allows one to harness the elements of nature, the ethereal and even that of perception. It is available to practitioners of all peoples, be they human, mamonme, fae and to either gender; male or female.

It has been hypothesized that there are great currents of energy which weave across and throughout the world. These currents are referred to as "Telluraene Flows" and are said to be the basis of magic. Telluraene energy is said to be neither positive nor negative, it simply feeds through the firmament, somewhat ensuring that all functions appropriately.

Those who make use of magic in fact use their Spiritus or Daemon Energy depending on whether they are mamonme or any of the remaining original races, to bend Telluraene energy to their will. Often the amount of Spiritus or Daemon Energy available determines how powerful the manifestation of said magic will be. Women, mostly due to the fact that mamonme are not drawn to their form of Spiritus are said to have the highest amount of usable Spiritus available, hence mages or magi are predominantly women.

We must make mention however of the price of magic, for there is an old adage; 'All magic always comes at a price.' One must remember that the power of magic itself has no price, however it is not free either. This however applies chiefly to magic which influences the actual fabric of reality and the world leaving lasting changes. This use of magic is usually the kind used to have wishes granted, or is employed through sorcery. As such let us determine the difference between elemental magic, magic of perception and sorcery.

Elemental magic can be expounded as a simple mathematical equation, the equation brings about a specific result be it fire, lightning strikes, etcetera. On the other hand magic of perception is simply a deception, something of a stage show, or a sleight of hand, though brought about via magic. This ability is innate to Kaaiman and as such can be easily controlled. While it may seem as if reality has been altered, the effects may only be experienced within the field of the illusion and the magic does not leave lasting changes on reality itself. Sorcery and magic used to bring about lasting change however is far more complex. There are many variables that have to be taken into account, as not fully comprehending and clearly stating one's intentions or desires could possibly allow energy to take the path of least resistance and bring about unexpected side-effects and consequences. This is in fact the very reason why all mamonme are mamonme or monster maidens.

Technology such as magical jewels tend to have runes etched into their depths which when charged, perform a similar task to that which practitioners perform when casting magic. They are oft created by magi of mamonme, human and fae heritage. This can be used to power heat-braces, provide lighting in the case of glow jewels or perform a variety of other functions. As the charge imbued into the jewel fades so will the magic provided by the gem. As such jewels can be pricey as they require regular replacement.
Matrika Beluaine

This term is the title which replaced that of Demon Lord sans the tainted daemon energy once found in mamonme. After the cleansing of the taint in daemon energy, mamonme were now possessed of a neutral energy which while not making a human's energy purer, did not taint a human's energy either. As a result mamonme began to feel the title Demon Lord, was not a good designation for the head of a now largely neutral race. As such, and after much discussion the title "Matrika"(The Mother) Beluaine(Nubile) was chosen as a suitable alternative. Matrika Beluaine or "The Nubile Mother" quickly caught on across all of mamonmekind and is oft shortened by mamonme to simply "The Mother" or "Matrika"
Aillaeah

The closest of the moons of Praxis and the largest, her name means beautiful one. Aillaeah was once the home of the Lunar Bunnies or Tsuki no Usako, a race of snowy white, semi-humanoid rabbits which lived on her surface. Their race had been on par with humans in terms of technology during the Age of Marvels and had frequently sent envoys to the surface to communicate with their neighbours.

At the end of the Age of Marvels, during the Piercing of Heaven's Pearl, the backlash from the energy released to defeat the abomination raging on Praxis destroyed the atmosphere of the moon, forcing the Lunar Bunnies to evacuate to the firmament itself. Nowadays Aillaeah's face bears an easily recognisable feature; a massive series of craters simply referred to as the Eye of the Moon or Aillaeah's Eye. This prominence is a testament to the raw devastation wreaked upon the lunar surface and is to this day studied by those with access to telescopes.
The Childhood Friend, Sister complex

This unusual condition afflicts mamonme from all phyla and families and yet is not inherent in all mamonme. It is usually displayed amongst urban dwellers, possibly due to the amount of humans and mamonme in residence in said civic regions. While in the past this behaviour was only apparent in friendly and neutral states, nowadays it is prevalent in small numbers in all boroughs.

It is said that those who are affected by this complex will usually meet a person they particularly like in their youth, however as they start to near their adolescent period, they will begin to subconsciously release a concoction of both pheromones influencing interest and disinterest in her "best friend". As a result the recipient of this strange amalgamation will see her only as a sister instead of as a potential lover. The mamonme will then claim that she is his sister and he her brother and will show him immense familial affection. This affection will more often than not, take the form of embraces, pats, hair ruffling and may even extend to actions which would be considered as leaning towards incestuous if the two had been siblings, such as "spoiling" her brother with lap cushions. What should be mentioned though is all of these actions will allow the aforementioned mamonme to gain spiritus from her "brother" through non carnal means.

Now while this may all seem a bit unfair for the recipient of these affections, the benefits include a loyal, protective sister figure who will oft attempt to set her "brother" up with a human partner who catches her and his eye. Now while she will not only bring about such a union, but also support it completely, as "sister" she will watch his partner's actions like a hawk and in most cases will even resort to "discreetly viewing" the woman's behaviour while away from her "brother." Woe betide the woman who attempts to dally with another male outside of her relationship. Such behaviour will lead to a quiet confrontation in a private area, and while it is unclear what these mamonme usually say, it is well known that those on the receiving end of a "chat" oft emerge tearful and extremely apologetic.

If the relationship progresses positively after this point, the man and woman will usually wed, after which the mamonme will find a partner nearby so that she may continue to keep an eye on her "brother's" wife while finding her own beau. If however the woman does not heed her warnings, and things do not go according to plan, the pheromones will cease and she will swoop in to claim her "brother" for herself.
Affeine

A somewhat sharp tasting drink which has gained in popularity in recent times. Affeine is prized for its properties as a stimulant and has taken much of Palachia by storm in the last few decades. The drink hails from The Suleimaan Empire where it has been popular for millennia. The beans used to create this drink are cultivated in plantations comprising valleys which face the Paecenzi Ocean. These valleys receive far more rainfall than much of the region, allowing for much of the agriculture in these lands. Affeine has also proven quite popular amongst mamonme and shares its highest level of popularity amongst those of the vampire and sorceress heritages. Mamonme often like to sweeten the drink with aluraune nectar and bovitauride milk, claiming it actually improves the taste. There are many humans in recent times who refer to themselves as "Masters of Affeine" generally they are known as barista's.
The age of Haletide

The period following the Renaissance and the purging of the taint from the demon energy which flowed within mamonme and incubi alike.

It is stated that this age came about when the then Principal God, Lady Eiraiha was barred from allowing mamonme into New Heaven. While many residents of New Heaven welcomed the idea of the now cleansed mamonme joining the ranks of Heaven, many of the gods, those who had pulled the strings of the Council of Elders still held great power and it was up to The Goddess of Spice, Myrrias to lobby for the inclusion of mamonme and incubi-kind.

While the Principal Goddess could not appear to take a side in this matter, She instead passed a blessing of halety which prolonged human and mamonme lives by threefold or more. While this appeared to merely be a blessing, it was in fact a method of putting pressure on those vying for a continuation of the status quo. Even New Heaven required an inflow of souls and by denying this vital need, the combined efforts of Myrrias and Eiraiha finally brought about the inclusion of mamonme and incubi-kind after a mere three hundred years. Those who fell prior to this time to injuries and accidents were left in a form of purgatory until the Goddess of Spice's victory.
Sino Nomine lake

Sino Nomine is a lake located between Crystal Plynth and the Stablefields, and the name of the town that resides on it's shore. According to local folklore, the pristine lake was formed several hundred years ago by a goddess to help those who were suffering in the area. This is hotly contested by academics since there is very little evidence of this goddess ever existing, but the beauty of the lake itself and the calmness it brings people lend some credence to this legend.

The lake itself is quite deep, but it becomes more shallow on its eastern end. The it is so shallow, that it has been known to dry up during the summer months with only a little bit of water left behind in pools. These pools are heated up by the sun, and can become as hot as a warm bath, drawing in many visitors. Another mystery about Sino Nomine Lake is how deep it actually is. Many attempts have been made to learn it's topography, but the deepest point on the western end has proven difficult to determine. Whenever scientists try to measure it's depths they experience equipment malfunctions, stormy weather, questionable or conflicting results, and one reported instance of almost being dragged into the lake by an unseen force. Water mamonme have been asked to swim down to the bottom, but they always return telling stories of experiencing an oppressive feeling that they were intruding and unwelcome. The locals say that the goddess lives in the deepest point of Sino Nomine, and that she enjoys her privacy, but scientists are unconvinced.

The town of Sino Nomine is a fishing town, although the town is becoming more renowned as a tourist town. Located on the South West section of the lake, the calming atmosphere of the lake extends to the town as well. The locals are easygoing and friendly to the point that many visitors have been known to return just to meet up with the friends they made here. Although tourism is becoming more important for the local economy, the local fish market is still bustling and many of the restaurants serve fresh fish. One of the more popular tourist spots in town is the floating shrine to the goddess of the lake. Located at the end of the longest floating pier on the lake, the shrine is simple but beautiful. While not overly religious, the locals come to the shrine every once in a while to thank the goddess for her bounty.

There are several different species of mamonme that call Sino Nomine home, although there aren't any that are exclusive to the area. Most of the mamonme are just as friendly and easygoing as the human populace, and even the more aggressive species seem to be calmer thanks to the lake's calming atmosphere. Thanks to it's proximity to the Crystal Plynth, Sino Nomine is also home to many celestials who find the atmosphere to be especially relaxing.

The Pirate's Code

This set of rules promulgated by the Empress of the Pirate Isles; Madame Chingu Shi or Madame Janeh Shi governs the actions of all pirates related to the Pirate Isles region. It is otherwise known as the "Chasse-Partie", but also as "Madame's House Rules" and the "Custom of the Coasts".

It is said that a young minotauride interested in the continent of Zipangu crossed the Murasaki-Suisho Sea many years ago and fell hopelessly in love with one of the high ranking human members of the Imperial Lunar Court. The mamonme bore this man's child, however another member of the court, jealous over the minotauride's good fortune, is believed to have discreetly arranged for her death with the aid of the then little known toxicant; "decadent whispers".

The courtier, revealed to be a huli jing, fled with an infant Chingu Shi and raised her in one of the many brothels operating in this region. The young mamonme however had a sound mind and observed the clientele who frequented the house of debauchery. She too was in constant contact with ureonggaksi courtesans who operated without their shells and in this manner grew up to be a scarlet woman known for her physique and talents. Coming of age, the mamonme grew sick of her decadent life style and fought her way out of the huli jings' clutches. Renaming herself as Janeh Shi, she fled the land of Zipangu. On her maiden voyage upon the Paeacenzi Ocean, the minotauride was captured by a pirate band and taken to the islands where minotaurides who had taken to the life of buccaneers dwelt. With her experiences and quick wit, the minotauride quickly worked her way from a mere swab to a captain of her own ship. Her daring raids upon ships of the Imperial Lunar Court earned her great acclaim and infamy and it wasn't long before the minotauride was begged to lead the Pirate Isles.

The mamonme soon realised that those buccaneers working under her banner were in-discriminant in their actions and she thus drafted her rules. She too enlisted the aid of one of her old friends, an ureonggaksi whom she had once worked beside. This mamonme unlike most of her kind, expressed her fear as cold, hard fury and with this in mind Madame Janeh Shi made her her second in command and crafted a list of rules which promised punishment from the ureonggaksi if anyone transgressed the code.

The Chasse-Partie has many rules set within, but some of the most important include:
No buccaneer under her flag could create or give her own articles to any other buccaneer without Madame Janeh Shi's say so, lest she encounter the wrath of her second in command Tetsukai Nami.

No buccaneer may steal from the public coffer or from any person who supplied her pirates under their own volition, lest she encounter the wrath of her second in command Tetsukai Nami.

All goods acquired as booty has to be displayed before all buccaneers under her flag for inspection. Lest the wrath of her second in command Tetsukai Nami be encountered.

All loot has to be turned in to the leader of the fleet to ensure all vessels are suitably stocked, the seizer would acquire a dividend of their prize. Lest the wrath of her second in command Tetsukai Nami be encountered.

With regards to human men, no man showing a wedding band or marked by a mamonme could be claimed, Lest the wrath of her second in command Tetsukai Nami be encountered.

Any buccaneer caught raping a human man does not only encounter the wrath of her second in command Tetsukai Nami, but will also be marooned on a small isle in the Paeacenzi Ocean with a single barrel of water. The male in question will be given safe passage to a nearby settlement.

Human women and men are not to be treated in any way that would blow them down, however if there is no wedding band, they may be claimed with the say so of the appropriate authority or even traded.

Surprisingly, despite these rather strict rules, the size of Janeh Shi's fleet continues to grow as minotaurides flock to her banner and name.

Section 2: Mamonme

This section deals with the monster race, otherwise known "Mamonme." All information has been gleaned from credible sources from around the Demon Kingdom, within states which either welcome or permit mamonme to take up residence within their boundaries and from the Lands of the Gentle Flame.

History

Many millennia past, in the latter half of the Principal God Athena's rule over the humans, alva, naga, fae, dwarves and merfolk, a race of angels was created to help those humans who could not find a suitable partner amongst the ocean of those who would not accept them. During this period, humans had become increasingly arrogant, with their increased intelligence and wisdom, they believed themselves to have no need for gods, they believed only in objects that were tangible and in particular loved money above all else. It was due to this behaviour that the alva became increasing hostile towards the human race. The merfolk, fae and dwarves, hurt by their treatment hid themselves in their mountains, pocket planes, forests and oceans while the naga races retreated to their homelands in the Karubian Desert.

There were many though, who continued to follow the gods and while this way of life could be considered as exemplary, they were outcast, never truly being able to find a human woman or man to call their husband or wife. The Prime God, feeling pity for those treated so unjustly, created angels known as "Angels of Mercy." These angels were exceedingly beautiful, as well as genderless until meeting their target, and were thus capable of changing themselves to better please the one whom they helped in the search for a suitable partner.

There came a time however, when these angels were no longer happy or content with leaving their human wards, they had discovered love and now saw those they served as partners, they refused to return to their state of genderlessness or to have their memories of their partners wiped from their being. After petitioning the Prime God, they were given a small section of the continent of Pallachia where they could live with their husbands or wives. This action outraged some quarters of Heaven, as the Prime God was viewed as favouring the Angels of Mercy over the rest of the residents of Heaven. The unrest was quelled, and in the final millennia of Athena's rule, a great catastrophe occurred, greatly reducing the number of alva and humans.

The next Principal God was different to the others before him. He had gained his rank by gaining the popularity of those who were still discontent about the treatment of the Angels of Mercy so many millennia back. With the sudden disappearance of the Prime God towards the end of the first quarter of the new Principal god's tenure, His stance regarding the treatment of humans changed from one of progression, to that of eradication. He created a race of beings known as "demons," and placed the strongest of them at the helm, this being was known as the "Demon Lord."

The Principal god had never accepted the Prime God's treatment regarding the Angels of Mercy, and placed a taint upon the demons' energy, this taint would subvert any who came into contact with the beings and their energy. He spawned the Demon Lord and his demons within the very homelands of the Angels of Mercy, warping them into the race now known as Succubus.

For the next twenty two millennia, the monsters ravaged the human race, causing the loss of technologies gleaned during Athena's rule, as well as a massive decrease in the human population in general. The fae and dwarven folk once again formed alliances with the humans and brought about an increase in both magically gifted humans, as well as increases in the population of dwarven and faefolk in general.

As time passed, heroes began to emerge, these beings, usually human, though sometimes dwarven or fae, brought down the ruling Demon Lord allowing a period of peace for the humans while the monsters searched for a new lord. This cycle repeated itself across the millennia until a Succubus queen named Delurihah Meludrae found an ancient book known as the "Tome of the Dawning." This book was an account of the reasons why the Angels of Mercy had settled in the Mortal World and shook the Succubus queen to her core.

Enraged by the revelation of her race's subversion, she vowed to become the demon lord and restore the relationship between her race and the human race to that before her race's fall from grace. Humans and Succubi would coexist peacefully together, their vicious methods of feeding on the souls of mortals, would change to the mere sipping of spiritus, an energy gained from humans. Her ideals inspired a young Succubus who had risen through the ranks to become a general, and within the final year of the Principal God's reign, Delurihah led an assassination attempt against the Demon Lord by herself... and failed, forfeiting her life.

Seretique vi Alloriel, the general inspired by her superior's ideals, finished the assassination on a whim, and became the Demon Lord herself. Seretique however, had a far loftier goal than her idol, she knew that many monsters outside the late Demon Lord's army had desired peace for themselves and for the human race, however, with their monstrous forms and blood lust this was all but impossible. The Demon Lord remembered a group of gods who had become monsters themselves and had formed a sect known as the Dynasty of Aten. Together the two groups created a grand spell which would beautify the entire monster race, allowing their dream to finally become a reality... However, as we all know magic, always has a price, and in this case, even the godly monsters of the Dynasty did not anticipate how expensive it would be.

The spell backfired, or rather, the demon energy produced a twist in the energies. It made all of the monsters transform to women, peerlessly beautiful women. However, the negative points of the Succubus race, namely their almost insatiable lust, amongst others, were also transferred to all members of the monster race. Consumed with lust for those known as humans, the monster women went into a frenzy attempting to gain a mating partner. The taint, now caused all beings brought into contact with the monsters, both sentient and non-sentient to incarnate into monsters themselves, the Naga were the first to suffer this fate, giving rise to the race now known as "Lamia". A mere half century later, the alvaen folk had fallen to the taint in a similar manner, it was only due to the efforts of the Queen and Goddess of the fae folk; Aine, and the sheer resistance to magic of the dwarfs, that the fae and dwarfs, though influenced in terms of their behaviour and properties by the demon energy, did not follow the same fate.

Seretique, panicking over the fact that she had possibly completed the previous Principal God's desire to wipe humanity from existence began attempting to find a solution to their dilemma. However, a new Principal God, a mere child in the scheme of things who did not understand her ideals and seemed to be obsessed with opposing her, began to thwart her attempts. Not only was she facing this... Annoyance, but her own nature was working against her, it did not take Seretique long to grow increasingly lax in her attempts to find a cure. It was a mere year or two later that the hero Damian appeared at her citadel and the rest... Is history.

One must note however that mamonme over the last five hundred years have gained a far greater control over their lustful nature and as such are far more composed than they once were.

Relationship with humans and other races

In general, mamonme tend to share a peaceful relationship with most races around them. In states where monsters are permitted conditionally, they are known to abide by the rules which allow them to stay within its boundaries. In monster friendly states, the wilderness and the Demon Kingdom, mamonme are much more aggressive in their pursuit of males, often using a variety of methods to acquire their man. In fact, one can say that mamonme in general are incredibly forward women, their advances are usually unaffected by any form of class, caste or other such method of societal discrimination.

We have stated that in general monsters are peaceful, but as with all races, you get those who do not conform to the norms of their brethren, and this too, holds true amongst mamonme. Impundulu, vampiric harpies dwelling in Minami Akrufia and other plains lands, are known to snatch humans regardless of their marital status, the same can be said for Sorceresses, a race of mamonme who have only recently made their presence known. In general Dragons have always shown a general disdain for races deemed beneath them, the only difference nowadays is that after "The Great Changing," their previous disdain was twisted into feelings of inferiority, as such, their kind have developed an inferiority complex which they tend to show in the form of hording great caches of treasure while challenging foolish mortals to attempt facing them, the same can be said for Vampires, an ancient offshoot of the Succubus race, their previously prideful behaviour has been replaced with a complex regarding their vampiric nature.

Mamonme rarely kill, however those who have lost their children or husbands to attackers, or who have a friend who has been assaulted sexually and against her own will, may lose control of themselves resulting in a re-emergence of their old monstrous persona.

Mamonme and human women

Mamonme share an interesting relationship with women, in particular with human women. It is well known that mamonme decorate and adorn their bodies and clothing to appeal to their potential human partner, while human women, though using similar methods to attract admirers, more often than not adorn themselves with such apparel to make themselves seem more important and thus fit into a social clique or other gathering of women in general... This type of behaviour is scorned by mamonme women as being both frivolous and unnecessary, the reasoning behind this view is that if a women is not making herself look appealing to a human male she desires or wishes to acquire, then what is the point?

The mamonme race on the whole is not a materialistic race, and though most will collect items to beautify their homes, the intent is usually to make their abode more comfortable for themselves and especially more welcoming for their mate. Most mamonme (with the exception of dragons and vampires) do not care about wealth. They frown upon the treatment of men by those who demand more wealth than is necessary and show the greatest contempt for those who leave their betrothed for someone who is more prosperous or has a higher status level. In fact, the reason most mamonme make use of their skills or a combination of their mate's and their own skills, is to make sure that they and their husband have what is necessary to remain healthy and well fed, those living in the wilds oft have no need for wealth though may attempt to barter for medicinal goods, should their mate fall ill.

Mamonme women are often envious of human women though, for it seems men often desire to seek relationships with their human counterparts, without the need for any form of charms, excessive pheromone control, etc. This, even when a future with a human woman is far from certain and could lead to heartache and sorrow, is a major factor in the often covetous relationship which many mamonme display towards human women. On the other hand, though mamonme may envy human women, they do not especially bear any ill will towards them either, in Demon Kingdom controlled cities where women are finding it increasingly difficult to find partners, mamonme often show sympathy towards their human counterparts. There are also situations in which mamonme women will actively attempt to teach or set the human up with a partner, and in very rare circumstances, may attempt to incarnate a human woman to a mamonme woman so that she can relate to her better and help her more easily find a partner.

We must however add that mamonme women rarely interpret the discrimination which takes place between human men and women in Demon Kingdom controlled towns and cities as being discriminatory. As human women are simply expected to incarnate into mamonme, which offers better looks, charms, work opportunities and overall improved technique, the concept of choosing conversion appears to be as easy as breathing. When a mamonme actually realises what is going on, that a woman wishes to retain her humanity and is seemingly punished or even ostracised for this choice, her remorse may become determination, determination to help the woman in question succeed.

Mamonme, and their lesser known instincts

It is well known that mamonme on the whole are incredibly forward, it is also common knowledge that mamonme can be selfish in terms of caring more about their own feelings over that of a potential mate's, though this is the case only prior to acquiring him. This is especially true for those living in the, as yet, unclaimed wilderness areas of the continents. It is also quite apparent that mamonme crave human men, it can be said that this is part of the Succubus instinct imprinted into all mamonme during the twist in the magic of "The Great Changing." As is a well known fact, a mamonme will do almost anything to attract or capture a fulfilling mate.

What is less widely known, are the heavily maternal instincts found in mamonme women. This is particularly true in the case of orphans, both human and mamonme. Although most of these cases are rarely noted, there are numerous cases of human children, having been dumped at the outskirts of villages, towns or cities, or having been left alone in forests by especially possessive stepmothers. In most of these situations a passing mamonme may happen upon the child and have her maternal instincts to protect said child kick in.

This instinct may be influenced by the deeply seated desire to be a mother, or perhaps a twisted throwback to their lust for death now being a thirst for life and to protect it. However, as one such mother, a young Grey Wolf stated, sounding somewhat like an ecstatic child; 'I can't get enough of my happy, happy, blissful family paradise!'

It is also apparent that this instinct is not affected by age, genus or personality as even Kaaiman have been known to clean up their act after adopting a child found cast into the river, in one instance a young Lamia, still a child, had her instincts kick in when confronted with a baby found in the bushes, just outside her village of residence .

Society and Culture

Contrary to the Luminaire's teachings, or to the beliefs of those dwelling in the more hostile regions, mamonme society is not all that different from our own. There are those at the top of the societal structure; I.E. Seretique vi Alloriel, her husband and her daughters, followed by the queens of each mamonme genus, and then those who believe themselves to be at the top of society I.E. Vampires, Dragons and various other entities. Below the upper levels of society we find all of the average mamonme, however, unlike humans, the only beings who truly put any stock in the import of this system would be those of the Vampire and Dragon genera.

Although there may be a hierarchy of levels in the societal structure of mamonme, unlike what can be found in human society, no negative or downwards discrimination takes place. On the contrary, apart from the respect and obedience displayed towards those above them, such as that shown towards the Demon Lord or towards the queens of a specific mamonme's own species, and excluding those such as the Vampires or Dragons who perceive themselves to be above other mamonme and humans. Mamonme on the whole get on well with each other, often making friends across genera and levels of society.

With regards to work and employment, though mamonme may seem lax, or only interested in activities of the more carnal variety, this could not be further from the truth. Through correspondence with various mamonme located within cities in the Demon Kingdom, friendly and neutral states, as well as those living within the Lands of the Gentle Flame, all mamonme are prepared to work toward the betterment of their mate as well as themselves. The difference however, between the human approach towards work, and the mamonme approach towards work, is that mamonme will only do that which they love doing or have an affinity towards.

This is evidenced by the line of work mamonme of various genera purport to follow. For example, Alraune, a flower type mamonme with an intoxicating nectar and scent, are often found running mead breweries, perfume boutiques and even florists. Bovitauri always work on their husband's farm as dairy producers, Mud Wasps make exceptional potters and clay-workers, Aranaei are among the finest seamstresses across the realm, while Grey Wolves and Thoths often take the role of writers.

Another difference is of course, the hours a mamonme will work for. Mamonme, as mentioned before, do what they enjoy doing, and this with out a doubt, has an impact on how they work and for how long. Mamonme often run their proprietaries in shifts, thus when one establishment closes after operating for a couple of hours, the next store will open, and as a result mamonme women are afforded an opportunity to do the minimum necessary work while allowing themselves more time with their husbands.

Although mamonme work very short hours, they put in their utmost best at the job they do during that time and this is evidenced in the quality of meads, perfumes, and other works created in the lands they live in. It should be noted though that besides those of the Dynasty of Aten, or Mud Wasps, most mamonme women are not architecturally inclined and thus this is one of the few jobs where humans living in the Demon Kingdom cities can often find work.

Education is also important amongst mamonme, though what mamonme children are taught is often quite different to that of humans. In most cities of the Demon Kingdom, mamonme children learn how to read, write, and more importantly to their kind, how to properly acquire a mate of their own. Unlike humans, mamonme place no distinction on age differences, and this is is instilled and openly encouraged in young mamonme by their mothers, teachers, siblings and friends. It is not uncommon for a young Succubus to take on a partner for life, often referring to this partner as an "Onii-san or chan," a term of endearment seemingly derived from the Zipangu dialect. It is unclear how this term became associated with a kingdom so far removed from the Zipangu continent and is an ongoing point of fascination.

One might think that a race so infatuated by lustful tendencies would have little, if any interest in cultural, literary, artistic and thespian activities. Surprisingly this is not the case. Strutting along the walkways in cities and towns of monster friendly states and the Lands of the Gentle Flame I have witnessed multiple Lorelei Minstrels filling the air with song, much to the appreciation of the crowds passing by. From what has been gathered from those who once lived in the Demon Kingdom, art museums do exist, often displaying pottery and sculptures created by Mud Wasps, intricate silken tapestries, woven and embroidered by some of the greatest Aranaei seamstresses of our time and other fine art.

Although most artworks appear to have a rather prurient focus, there are apparently many depicting the strange beauty of the Demon Kingdom as their focus. It should also be mentioned that Thoths and Grey Wolves are exceptional writers, with some being able to claim credit for books such as; The Dandelion in the Desert, Star of Fate, and other classics such as In the Halls of the Dragon Queen to name a few.

All in all, barring the often disdainful, discriminatory nature we of the human race show each other, mamonme society is not that different to our own.

Mamonme and human men

As is known by all, mamonme desire human men, this was just one of the tenets of the grand spell cast by Seretique vi Alloriel, the Dynasty of Aten, and the various tribal chiefs of the mamonme ranks. It is also readily apparent that mamonme women, though forceful have varying personalities; there are those who are shy, those who are brash, others are aloof, some are rather jealous, whilst others are calm, caring and sweet. What we can also state, with absolute certainty, is that all mamonme become a lot more gentle when they acquire a husband or male, gentle, but assertive. The question though is how does a mamonme woman react when meeting a human male? How do they seem to skirt the act of causing heartache for a male who does not interest them? We shall go into more detail below.

Due to their prior incarnation, that of monsterhood, all mamonme have innate abilities which have been carried over from this darker time. All mamonme have enhanced strength, often times the strength of ten to seventy adult men, depending on genus. These beings also experience a heightened sense of sight, smell, touch, taste and hearing, in all likelihood, unless a mamonme is incapacitated she will know a male is around before he even realises she is there. It may seem exceedingly unfair, but mamonme also have a sixth sense, that which allows their kind to sense the energy which flows through human beings, that of "spiritus."

When a mamonme encounters a human male, the first action which takes place (this action is in fact a subconscious activity) is that the mamonme will smell the purity as well as the compatibility of the spiritus of the male before her. After this act has taken place, there are two possible outcomes which could follow. In the first case, she will become interested in the man. If this is the case, then she will approach the individual and initiate contact with him. Her mind will attempt to find something which she can appreciate about her possible companion, at this point we must mention that after extensive interviews, the general consensus amongst mamonme is that they are not quite as picky as human women in this regard, they will attempt to find a facet of a potential interest which they can venerate and adore. This also explains why even young mamonme may pick a partner without bringing the gap in their ages into account.

Once a suitable trait, be it physical, mental or that of temperament has been established, the mamonme's thoughts rapidly turn to that of the future, of their blissful days ahead, being together both carnally and platonically, and it is these thoughts that rapidly bring about a lust crazed fever displayed by a healthy flush or glow. Mamonme respondents, describe this state as being quite scary and even slightly painful, breathing becomes increasingly difficult, whilst their body temperature climbs rapidly, eliciting complaints about how hot their body feels. If a mamonme has reached this point, she will be unable to have any other coherrant thoughts until she has either initiated skin to skin contact, mucous membranal contact via a kiss, or has attacked out of lust. Throughout this period a mamonme's body subconsciously releases powerful pheromones making it highly unlikely for her potential partner to escape.

In the second case, if a mamonme detects non-compatibility or does not feel any interest for the male, she will release a pheromone which induces a state of utter disinterest towards her in the affected individual. The male will simply pass her by, none the wiser and relatively unaffected by the encounter. Those who we have approached state that the fact that their kind love all human men, even those they feel no interest for, causes them to perform this act for the sake of the male in question. It must also be noted that while this ability is exceedingly useful, it is lost once a mamonme has acquired a mate, being exchanged for the ability to mark their husband against other mamonmes' attentions. This sometimes leads to cases in which a human male may attempt to take advantage of a married mamonme.

As mentioned before, mamonme can use pheromones to keep a male from fleeing, allowing more time to attempt to gain his affection. A male with a decent will can however, fight off the effects long enough to hurt himself (One example would be to break one's own finger.) which will then force the man in question to concentrate on the pain allowing him to escape. Mamonme however who have lost a partner in this manner are hurt emotionally and mentally. After this jilting, said mamonme will follow the man and depending on personality, either demand to know why he did not choose her or inquire about his reasoning, most times it will be asked forcefully often with tears. Eventually the man may come to the point where he will accept her feelings. If he already had a family she may be allowed to join the family, but will be considered as a mistress, which is not necessarily looked down upon in some regions. If at some point the male's wife does something hurtful such as leaving her husband for another man, wealth, etcetera... She will immediately swoop in to place herself as his wife.

If said human's children have remained with him (Which often is the case when a human wife has allowed wealth and status to be deemed more important than her own marriage thus cruelly leaving her partner.) The mamonme's maternal instincts will kick in and she will joyfully treat them as her own children. While it may take a while, eventually even the children will accept her.

Queens

As mentioned previously when discussing the hierarchy of mamonme, queens are mamonme who stand at the pinnacle of their genus. While placed lower on the hierarchical structure than Serebim, Seretic vi Alloriel's daughters, they hold far greater power than said daughters. To explain why, we will elaborate below.

As is now well known a Succubus queen by name of Delurihah Meludrae, found the Tome of the Dawning, during the previous Demon Lord's rule and decided that she would promote coexistence between those of the human race and the Demon Kingdoms. What is also well known is that there was a decline in attacks on humans following her revelation, however the reason behind this was not as well known.

It appears that Delurihah Meludrae had met with many members of clans who felt similarly to her about the treatment of humans, this led to a sweeping civil war which ended with the majority of those in favour of coexistence united under chieftains who would then gather all of the Demon Energies being channelled to them via the rest of their genus. When Seretique vi Alloriel took the throne, she approached these chieftains and through a combination of her strength as Demon Lord, their strength and the wisdom and strength of The Dynasty of Aten they were able to bring about the Grand Changing.

Queens are much the same as the chieftains mentioned before, they are mamonme who through strength or simply through leadership, have gained enough followers to become the focus of their genus' admiration. As a result, much of their genus' demonic energy will be diverted to themselves raising their strength and power to a level where they may stand head and shoulders above the rest. Due to this elevation of power, they are allowed to rule over their genus as a queen, the epitome of their brethren's greatness.

While not all queens are noteworthy, such as the queen of the Cukaliki, Milderaena, the queen of the C'try Mice, Kishaeli Thistel, the queen of the Ureonggaksi, Katatsumuri Kaimi or even the queen of the Lichen, Parmeli Thallae to name but a few, those of the more powerful races could easily put a Serebim over her knee and spank her. Such queens would be the queen of the dragons, queen of the Belle Dame, queen of the Vampires and even the pirate queen of the Minotaurides. These beings are extremely powerful, possibly even powerful enough to usurp Seretique vi Alloriel herself should they have chosen. There are some queens such as Elsaya of the Sorceresses that even the Demon Lord steers clear of due to her sheer power, it is believed to be only due to good fortune that Sorceress Elsaya has not shown an interest in the mantle of Demon Lord.

In closing we would just like to mention that in recent times, The Gentle Flame Clover Meadlowry has essentially become a queen in her own right. As The Gentle Flame, she has gained the admiration of most of the Bovitauride race, as well as that of many, many different mamonme races who have pinned their hopes on her and her relationship with the Principal God Eiraiha.

The Childhood Friend, Sister complex

This unusual condition afflicts mamonme from all phyla and families and yet is not inherent in all mamonme. It usually is displayed amongst urban dwellers, possibly due to the amount of humans and mamonme in residence in said civic regions.

Feral mamonme

As mentioned before one might find mamonme and feral mamonme, but what is the difference between these two castes? Mamonme who live in cities, villages, rural communities, towns or even near farmlands can often find a source of spiritus rather easily. Eating food prepared by cooks who love their craft will imbue food with spiritus, even a farmer who milks his bovitauride wife will instil his spiritus into her milk, thus a mamonme living near a farm will still be able to glean this much craved source of energy. Those however who live in the middle of the middle of nowhere, in places where pure spiritus is not available or have lived since birth without a fount of the energy typically become feral. Now one must not think a feral mamonme to be a raving beast, as a feral is fully capable of speech and thinking, however a feral is far more obstinate and her thought is far less coherent than a typical mamonme. Feral mamonme are far less likely to be reasoned with, they too are not concerned with the marking of a mate by a mamonme, much to the ire and dismay of married mamonme. In fact, a typical example of feral mamonme would be the sadistic twin ushi oni which lived in an undisclosed mountainous location. Until their final liberation via the human Fenich prior to his apparent suicide, the two were feral. While nowadays many mamonme have at least a method of acquiring spiritus to sustain themselves, one must remember that there are still many who live in less than desired locations. Without a source of their much thirsted for energy, they are currently members of the caste known as "feral".

Mamonme lifespans

While we have in previous sections, mentioned some of the more social traits of the beings known as mamonme, we feel it is time to delve into a very personal characteristic of mamonme-kind. Namely that of age and longevity.

As is well known, the kingdom mamonme is rather diverse. As such it should come as no surprise that mamonme differ in longevity based in most cases on phyla. Before elucidating our information we feel we need to clarify the lifespan of a typical human of the upper class who is more than catered for in terms of shelter, comfort, sustenance, welfare and physical condition. Such a human may typically enjoy a lifespan spanning anywhere from eighty to ninety years of age. We shall use this example as a yardstick for measuring the age of various phyla of mamonme-kind.

Beginning with the phylum Hominbesti, it is customary for most members of this phylum to hold a lifespan only slightly longer than that of a human. Bovitaurides, minotaurides, s'er bunnies, cat si and many other families may live from ninety to one hundred and twenty years of age. Some families such as those of zenko, tsuki no usako, unicorns and a handful of other species are known to live beyond this span typically reaching ages of three to five hundred if fortunate. Without exception mamonme of this phylum will be aware that their end is approaching via telltale signs such as increasing tiredness, fine lines and the mass greying of hair. They will however frequently maintain the appearance of youth regardless of age.

Those of of the phylum Avialae typically share a similar lifespan with regard to those of Hominbesti, however those of the genus impundulu are known to share a lifespan much in common with the zenko of Hominbesti.

The phylum Reptilia has some of the more longer lived members of mamonme-kind. Dragons and hydra typically live multiple spans of a typical human's life, with the only true limit being that of the rite of soul cleaving which has been introduced in recent times. Lizardkin are known to live anywhere from one hundred and fifty to two hundred years of age. Lamia and naga however typically live lifespans just shy of one hundred and thirty.

Those of the phylum meliae are known to live indefinitely. This however is only the case if the slime in question has not found a mate to be attached with. It was well known that a slime who refers to herself as attached will survive for as long as her mate lives. When a mate ceases to exist, a slime will cry herself apart, soon following her beloved.

Members of phylum Plantae are known to be long lived, much like those of phylum Reptilia.

Phylum Arthropoda is said to be the shortest lived of the phyla found within the kingdom Mamonme. Polimana and other insectid mamonme are said to live up to or just shy of the length of a human life span.

Members of phylum Mollusca are typically among the longer living phyla, however members of genus ureonggaksi are said to live around the same lifespan as that of a lamia, possibly a slight degree shorter.

Apart from dragons and members of phylum Meliae, other longer living mamonme fall under the phyla Daemonae, Ascomycotae, Ethereas and Daimon amongst others. Succubi and vampires in particular are said to have lifespans easily mimicking that of dragons. Lichen are also particularly long lived and the elementals of the phylum Ethereas are said to share a similarly long period of longevity. It should also be noted that any mamonme falling under the title of undead have no limitation to their lifespan.

Section 3: Humans

One of the six original races created for the population of our world, and the second of the two remaining races who are still pure, humans hold a huge appeal amongst mamonme. There are many who wish to give birth to human children, and all mamonme want a human mate. As such this section will deal specifically with humans and our many traits. We must mention that all of the facts presented below were gleaned from wedded Angels who were extremely forthcoming, and those Valkyries who have deigned to allow us an interview.

History

The first of the six original races created for our world, when humans were created they were designated as the beings of land and air. It would be up to humans to ensure that the arable lands were tilled and that their powerful spiritus would spread across the world. This was for the simple reason that Heaven's denizens gain their status from faith, and as such, the more beings spread across the extent, the more faith could be acquired. Humans were also created with spiritus that could easily adapt to that of the other five races to be created soon after them. This would ensure that the gene pool would always stay fresh due to the endless possibilities available.

For a few eons, the humans, alva, naga, fae , dwarves and merfolk lived in a state of paradise, a utopia existed where everyone treated each other well and the different races mixed freely. However, it came to pass that Nephyrias, an arrogant god, had decided that his station was far higher than anyone living on Praxis and as such descended with a host of angels, gods and goddesses loyal to him with the intention of taking husbands and wives for themselves. Humans were the main target of their ambitions as humans produced the most powerful faith and spiritus of all of the original races. No human was safe, whether betrothed or not and Nephyrias was able to build a great empire, the second on Praxis after Jottunheim.

The Prime God was furious, as Nephyrias's influence had brought depravity and arrogance to His once peaceful and pure world. After a protracted war between Heaven and Nephyrias which lasted for about five millennia, the conceited god was cowed and dragged back to Heaven for judgement. Nephyrias was demoted from god to Seraphim and his host received a similar fate.

Humans however had changed, wars had begun to break out as some groups deemed themselves better than others. Various dark practices had begun to spread and it was under the strain of this environment that the Prime God came up with the position of Principal God. A Principal God would govern the world in the Prime God's place allowing Him to concentrate on creating and managing other worlds and Heaven itself.

With the first being the Principal God Parvati, it was not long before dark practices and hostilities were reined in and humans once again began to flourish, wars had disappeared once more leading to a time of tranquillity. With the world peaceful once more Parvati handed the mantle of Principal God to Athena, a wise and skilled Goddess. As the Principal God, Athena taught the races many new skills, She taught how to build complex civilisations, the written word, the art of mathematics, inspiration, artistry and the meaning of true courage, she taught many other skills too. Her rule was relatively successful and all of the races grew almost exponentially in wisdom and artistry.

It is said that this became the period known as "The Age of Marvels" many increasingly complex technologies were discovered and utilised allowing humans to live lives of great comfort and bliss. At about this time however Nephyriel, unhappy with his failure so many millennia back, rebelled against the Prime God by deceiving a priestess known as Pandora into opening a box which was in fact a gate to the lower levels of Heaven where darker energies were kept contained. This contaminated the world with sin, which in particular adulterated the humans and alva. The humans began to treat each other unkindly and became arrogant towards their fellow inhabitants, particularly the naga and alva.

If this had not already been bad enough, the arrogance of humans began to be turned not only on each other, but to the gods and Heaven itself. Humans believed all of the answers were in their grasp, and that the gods were unnecessary. People who followed the gods were considered crazy and ostracised from society. Those who began to claim their live-in friends were a form of angel were not treated as eccentric or imaginative, but were instead considered as a menace themselves. This stance continued for a a few millennia until "The Rending of the Veil", an event in which the sky tore asunder and a voice proclaimed to all that for the conceit displayed, all of the races would have one millennium to prepare for the greatest threat ever, an abomination which would require teamwork to defeat.

A millennium later, a great hero born from the commingling of all six of the original races defeated the horror, which led to the event known as "The Blinding Pillar" as well as "The Piercing of Heaven's Pearl". It is believed that this is the period when "The Eye of the Moon" formed. The great energies released not only damaged the moon, but also caused great floods and devastation which brought about a massive drop in the human and alva population.

"The Age of Qualms" followed this period for a few millennia, in which humans, using the technologies which remained attempted to eke out an existence and reclaim the life lived in The Age of Marvels. The appeal of war had faded as the humans and other races alike lived in a shattered world struggling simply to survive.

It was also around this time that the Demon Lord arose, a feared being who brought tribulations upon the world with his grand forces. Possibly the most macabre and dreaded members of his legion were without a doubt, the Succubi, a race who would steal humans' souls through soul-numbing coitus. Twenty-five millennia would pass with a repetitive cycle of death and rebirth, the alva still held onto their conceit, however the fae and dwarfen folk had begun to mix with humans once more. Their commingling of genes and blood, imbued the human race with both magic and tenacity, helping in the creation of heroes who defended the weak and routed the Demon Lord every few thousand years. During this period many of the technologies of The Age of Marvels were lost, usually through raids perpetrated by the Demon Lord's forces.

War now was solely an act of survival, and was waged against the Demon Lord and its minions. It was an enormous shock when, five hundred years ago, as attacks from monsters appeared to be undergoing a gradual decline, a traitorous succubus general known as Seretique betrayed and assassinated the Demon Lord claiming the mantle for herself. After this turn of events, a new Principal God by name of Eiraiha made Herself known and a few years later all monsters switched to the now common name mamonme. Not only did their race change its name, but their forms changed to those of surprising, in fact haunting beauty. Human men began to disappear at a rapid rate, the prevailing notion was that they had been eaten, however no person could be certain of this.

With this spate of disappearances, an organisation known as the Luminaire, made an appearance. This took place two hundred and fifty years ago. The Luminaire espoused a doctrine of love and virtue and warned against drowning one's self in lasciviousness. Many quickly adopted their beautiful message which came from Eiraiha herself and she became one of the most loved Principal Gods in recorded history. However those who ran the Luminaire were only human, and within half a century, the Luminaire had changed its stance to that of defender of the humans with the enemy being deemed to be the Demon Lord Seretique vi Alloriel, an apparently vicious succubus.

The "Centenary War" which took place over a period of one hundred years saw the Luminaire gain control of Caeronne, Eulae, Cambris, Aterie, Labriene, Devensie, Wolstolyn, Mousteri, Aurigna, Beestaere and Fenno. The Luminaire now called the alliance of eleven states "The Luminaire Kingdoms". They put forth their gospel of war against the Demon Lord and claimed it was Eiraiha's will that all mamonme should be purged from the lands, many believe their words implicitly, however many of those outside the kingdoms look on with scornful disdain. Over a century has passed since, and the heartlands of the Luminaire Kingdoms now boast spectacular cathedrals, galleries and cities, in fact Cambris is renowned for the impressive artistry found within its cities, Fenno is well known for its impressive cathedrals and monuments.

Within the Luminaire itself one can find a rigid top down hierarchy which holds everything in place. Those factions cropping up within its ranks who question the organisation are often crushed or are branded as heretics, two well-known examples are The Gentle Flame's husband Erien Meadlowry as well as Perric Ahndahvel the husband of a popular Werewolf Queen known by the name Pahkti Ahndahvel. Both deserted the Luminaire after discovering the difference between Eiraiha's original teachings and the Luminaire's current doctrine. Many young soldiers who are unhappy leave the Luminaire, fleeing the Kingdoms and heading for neutral or open states beyond its borders.

Nowadays, humans living outside the Kingdoms have become a somewhat acceptant lot, however there are many who prefer to stick to their exclusivity, and as such create "Hostile States". In Neutral and Open states, the Luminaire's soldiers or knights have acquired the disparaging epithet "Lantern Lighters" and are often utterly unwelcome within Open States. More and more mamonme are allowed to live with humans, however while they have been shown to be a mostly peaceful group, human marriages and birthrates have been declining under their influence.

Human Women

Let us begin this section by noting the fact that human women are not unattractive. Humans were created, as with all of the races in the Mortal World, as an attractive race. Thus we can say that human women are able to attract a partner quite easily, or at least were able to, up until a few centuries' back. However let us discuss this in detail.

Human women, as mentioned before are quite beautiful, even some of the plainer females have their own unique charms which can easily find them a potential husband. Obviously one of the biggest draws is that they are of the same species as human men which allows men to skirt the stigma sometimes prevalent when choosing someone outside their species, be she dwarven, alva, fae or mamonme.

The problem however is one of the psyche. Since time immemorial or at least throughout recorded history, women have been treated with relative awe. Various divine scripture works proclaim man and woman were created as equal, neither was inferior nor superior. While each gender had specific differences, these differences would come together to form a harmonious whole. Those women who were strong and confident would, much like in the nature of a hunt be able to acquire a softer partner to complement their more powerful nature. Those who who were less confident, were oft pursued by those men who were far more confident, the system worked smoothly... Up until the Age of Marvels.

At this time it must be mentioned that up until the Age of Marvels and in fact the deception of the priestess Pandora, the other members of the world, those of the other five original races and in fact, even the jotunnar had provided competition which had kept the pattern from developing kinks or becoming skewed. However after the opening of the gate, humans became arrogant, the jotunnar kept to themselves as humans began to fear their kind, the fae, dwarfen folk, merfolk and naga retreated from the prevailing climate of superiority and ridicule, and the alva came to shun the human race with disdain.

Human women had no competition and as such kinks began to form. Those who believed in the gods were the first to be marginalised, the arrival of the angels of mercy helped for a period, however women in particular had become increasingly focused on material wealth and status, valuing these two above the more important treasures and values. It is asserted that it was during this period that some unpleasant seeds had been sown, seeds which would take root in later times.

The great cataclysm which signalled the end of the Age of Marvels and devastated the world caused a significant drop in the human population. At this time, the fae were still working on their technologies which had protected them during the calamities which had befallen the world, the dwarfs were still safe in their mountain fortresses and cities. The seeds sown before had begun to sprout, however the petition regarding the angels of mercy brought a temporary end to this situation as once again competition had appeared. This however was brought to an end by the appearance of the Demon Lord who subverted their race and began to pillage the human race.

With the human race in dire straits, women were elevated to a position deemed more important than men. They were allowed to make every decision with the value of their logic placed above and beyond that of their male counterparts, wars were fought in the name of woman, treacheries committed merely for the right to be claimed by a specific woman, women became complacent and felt they could treat people as they deemed fit and not have to worry about the consequences. As such the seeds sown before flourished and thrived across the millennia until Delurihah Seludrae's failed attempt to assassinate the Demon Lord and Seretique vi Alloriel's subsequent success brought its growth to an end.

It appears however, that the growth still has some life in it. Nowadays many human women still treat men contemptuously. Men are often expected to complete grand quests, or provide wealth as a sign that they are fit to be wed or even have a partner. In this currently class driven society, many a women will wed a man claiming love for him only to discard him for a man with greater means later, without a care for his well-being. That is not to say however that all women have this flawed personality, in fact stating that human women are in some way rotten through and through would be as nonsensical as claiming that mamonme are completely pure beings who can never make a mistake.

There are those women whose hearts are as rich as their skin, the hue of the arable and fertile soil. There are those for whom their personalities are as pure as the driven snow and yet others who show love and compassion as deep and fiery as a briar rose. Mixed into this formula there are still those who simply do not have the gumption to claim a man for themselves which serves only to add even more to the plethora of issues surrounding humans on the whole.

In closing we would like to make it clear that human women on the whole have many virtues, often countering the discrepancies which are oft alluded to be by men.

Did somebody said sister complex?! :perv:
Let's seeeeee.... :stunned:
Eeeerhhh... could we reduce it to "She will swoop in to claim her "brother" for herself."? :^^:
Also, what about "mother complex? :blushing:
(Although, I have to admit it would be so cool to have a Big Onee-chan that's not really my Big Onee-chan :blushing: )
P.D. Also, what about "mother complex?" :blushing:

Hmm... Well, I thought the maternal instincts and fact that a mamonme will adopt orphaned or even lost children covered that, but if you let me know what your mother complex would entail, I will be willing to add it :^^:

Well, I was referring to the possible attraction a child could experiment for his mamonme mom and that would lead mommy to not look for a husband and just "remain" :perv: with her child! :info:

Re: The Praxis Compendium - serebim named and naming challen

Post by Raet »

Hi there. Serebim or daughters of Seretique have been mentioned a lot in passing in many stories by myself or Sparkbomber. How many of these daughters are there, and what are their names? I can name a few here, so here are some of the Serebim by name.

Maraina: The youngest Serebim to date. She is petite, wears a small pair of spectacles (mostly to look cute) and is better capable of using magic, etc due to experiments being performed on her while a foetus. This was in an attempt to combat the Demon Energy corruption problem. (Sparkbomber)

Lokaeli: A trickster and also the creator of the magical girl and sorceress species of mamonme. (Raet)

Marisaelle: A brash, blunt serebim. She has trouble showing her feelings to others and cares greatly for her sister Laerine. She has read the Tome of the Dawning and believes that Heaven should belong to the Demon Kingdoms as succubi were originally angels. She has attempted a coup on her mother in recent times. (Raet)

Laerine: A pragmatic Serebim who believes that the ends justify the means. Some special Coppelia have been created for the express purpose of being an army of fighting dolls, but all of her attempts have failed so far. (Sparkbomber)

Salaceasa: Not much is known about this serebim, however going by her name she indulges in carnal activities on a whim. (Raet)

Clemaense: An extremely merciful serebim. Clemaense has a soft heart and chest going by the rumours. She is responsible for allowing Luminaire soldiers to escape the Demon Kingdoms after being thwarted. (Raet)

Lyrabaelle: Not much is known about this serebim, although in later times the blue hypergiant star Alpha Lyrabaelle was named in honour of her. (Raet)

Faorellae: A petite serebim. Her name means little flower. Faorellae has a fascination for aluraune and other plant mamonme. (Raet)

Biaencynn: Not much is known about this serebim. (Raet)

Jeiralelle: This serebim has been spoilt by her parents for a long time, as a result she is often haughty and selfish. (Raet)

Cleramelle: This serebim is extremely protective of her sisters and has a sharp mind. (Raet)

Bonnwique: Named for her beauty, this serebim is said to have a combination of both beauty of heart and looks. (Raet)

Amalthea: A serebim who nourishes and cares for orphaned children, and brings rich blessings to those who nurture the needy. A home visited by her indicates a time of fruitfulness and bright blessings, of nourishment and fulfillment. She considers Clover the personification of a “Perfect Being” (Hood)

Anselma: A serebim who is the personification of the battlemaiden. While Clemaense and Amalthea are motherly protective, Anselma is fiercely protective, confident, vigilant and always prepared. Her preferred weapon is the war hammer; a strong ally in any approaching battle. She is also known as the “Black Stampede” since she always come to battle mounted in beast similar to a Cape Buffalo. (Hood)

Ater: A gloomy, vindictive serebim known for scheming against anyone who upsets her, including her mother and sisters. Fortunately she is quite clumsy and isn't as smart as she likes to think she is so her schemes typically fail and leave her in compromising positions. She also tends to pout afterwards. (Blindeyes)

Laetus: A serebim whose cheerful, helpful, and bubbly personality hides a devious cunning. While she often offers her aid to her sisters and can be a great help to them, the other serebim tend to look at her with suspicion since she has been known to sabotage their works on a whim. She is somehow able to convince everyone to forgive her afterwards despite this. Considered to be the single greatest tease of all the serebim. (Blindeyes)

Nauka: Considered the weakest even compared to her younger sisters, her only trait is her ability to retain her memories and feelings since birth. Wise in all fields of study, but lacks the power to cast high level magic she finds alternative methods to gaining power. She never holds her feelings back, displaying her emotions without restraint, and has kept her childish nature which shows itself from time to time. (Timiddarkspy)

Sataelah: Driven and free spirited, Sataelah is one of the more independent of her sisters. She was mostly known for her creation of the Shrouded City of Sedir, hidden within an enclosed bubble away from Praxian lands. While her own magical powers are not as developed as one might expect for a Serebim, she has an unprecedented ability to tap into ambient magic, granting her almost limitless magic which she uses through the application of numerous Brute force spells. Her knowledge of written spellwork is considered one of the best amongst her fellow Serebim and she is known to hide Spellwork(often to the recipient expense) inside her correspondence. She is constantly working against attempts by her more troublesome sisters to breach the Sedir Bubble and often sends spell-laced letters of complaints to them. (LordMehtulBawkes )

Lucretia: There are more things lurking in the shadows, my children, than are dreamt of in a feverish dream… and Lucretia battle’s those things. And by “those things” we do not mean the Luminaire or other groups with their own agendas; no, what Lucretia fights, is that shadowy figure that appears only out of the corner of your eye, furtively darting out of view when you turn to look straight at them, but are now gone. She fights the faceless, ominous, hooded figure standing behind you, whispering its wicked deeds down your neck.

Lucretia considers herself a bulwark against the darkness that prowls from the shadows, and she throws herself into the task with mighty passion; people said that she was brought forth to battle evil, and she takes that charge literally. Taint-pledged, Asuras and any other kind of antagonist have few enemies as relentless as this Serebim and, thanks to her deeds, Lucretia even gained Eiraiha's favor and was adopted by the Goddess as some sort of niece.

She has even learned to use the shadows and travel to other locations and chase the terrors that lurk there. It is also rumored that she’s even able to travel other worlds through the use of those same shadows and spends part of her time there, helping people and spreading Eiraiha’s teachings. And although she is not looking for fame or renown, she sometimes is worshiped as the “Bringer of Light”. (Hood)

Cephrea: A serebim who involves herself in politics and public relations between humans and the mamonme. Sometimes gets along with a few of her sisters while preferring a balance between solitude in libraries and exploration of local towns to understand its inhabitants. Generally nomadic to meet the latter conditions. (Pierce)

Lunamita: A noctural serebim that prefers to travel and play at night when the moon is high in the sky. Loves drinking and prefers partying with her sisters and male companions. (Pierce)

Anahime: A serebim whose main hobbies involve experimenting with the elemental arts of pyrokinesis. Utilizing the art for cooking or using it as a deterrence against unwanted intruders. Isn't fond of pyromania however. (Pierce)

Clinice: A serembim dedicated to the advancement of mundane and magical medicine. She is passionate about her work, and will talk about it at length to anyone willing to listen. However she is also a renowned pervert with no preference on who, or what, she lusts over. While she is normally able to keep her sex obsession from affecting her work, it can distract her and lead to some odd results. This has led to some of her more embarrassing creations such as the cold medication that also induced erections, or throat lozenges that taste like semen. (Blindeyes) MGU

Medius: A serebim known to help any who come to her for help. She believes in true neutrality, and offers her aid to both heroes and villains. However, depending on what is asked of her or how it was requested, she may decide to help anyone who would benefit in stopping a persons request. Despite this, there is a steady stream of people coming to her brothel to see her, although her brothel is very famous as well. She sometimes works as a dominatrix for her brothel, although her shoggo and androge servants know that she has a strong masochistic streak. (Blindeyes) MGU

Delire
An serebim with a devotion for justice as great as her desire to become a magical girl. Unfortunately her dream is an impossible one since she is much too old, and she annoys Lokaelei far too much. This has not deterred her however, and she continues to fight for the forces of truth and justice with her powerful magic. She has many fans, although there are an equal number of people who find her behavior to be quite disturbing. They point out that her magical girl costume was obviously meant for a child instead of her curvaceous adult body, and that most actual magical girls would be much too embarrassed to say and do half the things she does. Delire ignores all of these complaints, and insists that she is a twelve year old magical girl. Whether this is because of a delusion, or her sincere, innocent wish is currently up for debate. (Blindeyes) MGU

Immanis
A down to earth serebim who looks like a well-endowed child and wishes to farm in peace. Tired of all politics and infighting among her sisters, Immanis moved to a human community to grow vegetables. She tries to keep her identity secret, but most of her neighbors already know she’s at least some kind of mamonme since children aren’t able to operate a farm on their own and don’t tend to have such large breasts. Nobody says anything since they all adore her honest and friendly attitude. Her monstrous strength and willingness to help don’t hurt either. Immanis has great magical potential, but has never actually learnt how to use it. Instead her magic seeps out of her unconsciously and grants her vegetables magical effects. These effects change depending on her mood. For example: if Immanis is angry when she tends to her fields her vegetables will give whoever eats them extra strength and ferocity, while if she’s lustful they will act like a powerful aphrodisiac. She is unaware of this however, and it is almost impossible to determine which vegetables do what which has led to various unfortunate incidents. At least they always taste good. (Blindeyes) MGU

You are free to come up with more of her daughters. So far Seretique has been in power for at least 500 years. I look forward to seeing your own, they will become canon if they're good!

Well here are mine; just 2 for the moment. Hope you like them.
