The March of Nauka (Quest 4)

Post by Timiddarkspy »

A way of showing support, and to endlessly practice my writing, I bring to you a light, action comedy story of a budding young scientist who attempts to make a name for herself.

Introduction:
Spoiler: show
“Yes~, yes~, almost there~” A woman cries out in bliss, her moans cry out even through the stone walls of her small manor.

“My lady is everything-” a Polimana with wings and eyes of warm blue colors pokes her head from the open wooden door.

A flash of electricity, and a shock-wave caused the manor to rumble, the ground to tremble, and the Polimana to hop off the floor almost hitting her head on the ceiling before flapping her wings and landing softly on her feet.

What came next was a white mist that enveloped the room before descending down the floor and rolling through any openings it can move through.

“The building is shaking again, I take it another project is finished?” A second Polimana with soft green wings and eyes approaches her twin.

Both girls looking identical in every way even to their dark tanned skin, with long straight hair that match their respective eye, and wing colors, though the blue winged Polimana covered her right eye with her hair while the green haired one had her left eye covered. They were dressed as maids with a sleeveless black bustier with white frills on the edges complimenting their C-cup bosoms, and thigh length black mini-skirt with a long white apron keeping their outfit clean and fashionable. Both girls also wore frilly white maid-caps on their heads, and white chokers with a gold amulet in the shape of diamond.

“Come on~ Come on~” the woman they were checking up on encouraged what appeared to be a square metal box with wheels.

The girl in question, now a budding adult who could make her own decisions, with locks of black straight hair ending in curls just above her waist. A silver hairband keeping her her hair from covering her eyes, but after staying up all night, few rogue strands still got in the way. Dark purple horns curled inward adorned her head as well. Her eyes dazzled like purple gems, her lips glossed with her own tongue as she waited impatiently for results.

She wore a deep purple formal dress with an exposed back and V-neck stretched just below her breasts and flowing loosely as her body shook with anticipation, her D-cup breasts almost visible to anyone standing beside her at just the right time and angle. Her formal wear flowed down to her ankles with the hem cut to her waist, high heel black slippers, and black see-through leggings attached to a black garter belt. With it she wore a thin, white open coat with several pockets carrying a note-pad, and writing material as well as anything else she felt like carrying with her at all times. Her thin dark purple tail ending with a heart shape tip swished and swayed like an excited dog waiting to play.

Strange noises could be heard inside the metal box, and to everyone's surprise it began moving on it's own.

“Success! Look! It's moving~ Whoo~ho-ho~” She squealed in delight before turning to her maids simply staring at her. “I-*ahem*-I mean of course it's moving! The march of science moves onward!” She declared pointing at the sky.

Her two Polimana maids gave her a less than enthusiastic round of applause, though she took every little praise she was given bowing and thanking her audience.

“Lady Nauka, we have several letters addressed to you, one being of the utmost importance,” the blue Polimana stated.

“Can it wait Serenity? I want to see how far my little friend here can go! I finally accomplished the impossible and made it move without magic!” Nauka refused.

“It is very urgent, this letter. It's from your mother” the green haired Polimana insisted.

“...Fine, I shall browse these collective letters, don't you go anywhere my little buddy-oh who am I kidding? I'm a genius, of course you're not gonna sit still. Well give them here Trinity” Nauka turned to her green Polimana maid carrying the letters.

Of course she began reading her mother's letter first stamped with the family seal in red wax, and written in paper woven from a tapestry.

“Let's see here...'Dear my precious little one'-ugh I'm a little too old to be called by such a pet name don't you think?” She began, then stopped, looking at her maids to agree with her.

Both maids shrug their shoulders unsure of how to properly answer her.

“Oh whatever! Let's see...mrm-hm-'wise beyond your years'-oh~ that's sweet...'I regret to do this but'...hm-hm? What is this!? No longer reimburse me! What on earth!? Oh mother you-you-UGH~!” She cried out crumpling the paper and throwing it out the window.

“Bad news?” Both maids replied.

“Unfortunately so! We are...oh how do the commoners put it? 'Quite screwed', yes that seems to be accurate. Mother in all her infinite wisdom has decided to cut me out of my allowance and will no longer fund my projects! The nerve of them to undermine all that I can achieve!” Nauka was on the verge of a temper tantrum.

“Perhaps she is learning from Lady Jeiralelle?” Trinity tried to explain.

“This...sucks...so~ much!” She gasped stomping around the room in her high heels.

“Perhaps it is best to refrain from vulgar swears typically associated by the lower class my Lady?” Serenity advised.

“May I remind you that I speak however I wish to speak? Censoring myself because of a few imaginary traditions and customs that have no effect on reality is the very definition of stupidity!” Nauka excused herself.

Serenity, and Trinity stare at each other, once more unsure of how to answer and simply shrug it off.

“Perhaps reading the other letters will cheer you up my Lady” Trinity suggested.

Nauka paused, and remembered she was still holding letters in her hand, and glanced at them.

“...This one is from Cleramelle; let's see here...” Nauka began reading her letter.

“Any good news?” Serenity asked.

“Well, not so much, just consolidation for my bad luck. Oh? She also shares in some of my theories as well and wishes to discuss them over tea. Finally an equal worthy to discuss my findings with, I'm glad at least someone in the family cares about me!” Nauka exclaimed.

“But without an allowance you won't even be able to afford to host her visit, we only have so much tea and snacks to provide” Serenity calmly explained.

“And once again I am reminded of my terrible state” Nauka turned gloomy again.

The sound of something crashing on the floor alerted the three girls and they see the metal cube now broken into pieces as it rolled off the table and fell.

“Wha-haha~my invention! No~” Nauka cried out as she crouched to her little toy. “It's-it's gonna be okay! W-we'll put you together again, a-and you'll be my best friend~” Nauka wailed as her tears began to stain her make-up leaving her into quite a mess.

After her maids have consoled her, and she had taken a refreshing bath Nauka returned less moody and downtrodden than she was before.

“Well, that sucked terribly” Nauka replied resting on her couch and crossing her arms as her maids prepared her tea and biscuits.

“It also did not resolve the predicament we are facing” Serenity reminded.

“I am well aware of that! Trinity, what did you find?” Nauka turned to her second maid.

“I have gathered a few ideas in which we can acquire more gold to keep us sustained. If your sisters can do it, than so can we” Trinity declared.

“Excellent! What are your suggestions?” Nauka asked.

“We can try to sell the inventions you have perfected thus far?” Trinity began.

“That will simply not do! I refuse to let the common folk get their hands on my treasured inventions just so that they can break it” Nauka refused.

“...We can offer our services as escorts to gentlemen who are lonely, and wish to share a bed with us,” Trinity said.

“Are you implying that we sell our bodies for perverts looking to pay for sexual favors? Absolutely not! That is Salaceasa's department and I will refuse to share in her hobbies! I am my own woman,” Nauka refused that as well.

“It will be good practice considering the lack of male attention we have been receiving,” Serenity said.

“And are you implying I cannot find a mate? I have already deduced that no one in this town I'm sharing my space with is worthy of my attention and that is it! Do not lump me down to Ater's level,” Nauka's creamy white skin began to flush.

“I was hired to clean your abode my Lady, but so far the worst stains in your bedchamber's mattress were some chocolate you were eating after reading a romantic novel, and crying to yourself why no one bothers to visit and-” Serenity began.

“Don't make me deduct your pay” Nauka warned.

“You don't pay us-” Serenity began.

“If the next thing out of your mouth is another back-handed comment about my lifestyle and choices, then I will make sure you'll be cleaning the stains from your own bodily fluids in my alchemy room after I'm done with you...with your tongue!” Nauka was growing impatient.

Despite the threat Serenity remained composed, and almost uncaring to teasing her employer, and answered with practiced grace.

“I suggest we head to town, and attempt to accomplish a quest the neighboring guild has posted on their bulletin board, and collect the reward,” Serenity explained.

“That's...that is not a bad idea at all. I have been cooped up in my room for some time now, it would be nice to do some actual field studies in the open. Serenity I take back my comments about you! Ladies...we are going on a quest!” Nauka declared.

“If that is what you wish we shall assist in your endeavour,” Trinity agreed.

“Then it's settled, we grab our stuff and complete a quest! As a soon to be renowned genius this task will be finished in a matter of moments with the power of science!” Nauka declared.

“Perhaps one more comment my lady? I am still not entirely sure of the name you call your method with,” Serenity said.

“Well, I'm not gonna name it after myself, I know I'm amazing, but even I'm not so narcissistic to name my methods after me!” Nauka declared.
Quest 1
Spoiler: show
The village was relatively small, and even unnamed for the time being, used mostly as a pit-stop for merchants to rest. Only recently did a guild deem this place worthy of setting a base of operations, though members were few in numbers and thus they allowed the populace to accept whatever tasks needed to be completed.

Along the main stone road Nauku, and her two maids the Blue Polimana Serenity, and the Green Polimana Trinity walk towards the bulletin board outside the guild hall, and inspect it's requests.

“Now then, we are looking for a quest with high reward, and low maintenance work” Nauka declared pointing at the bulletin board.

“...This flier wishes for us to exterminate a being by the title, 'Gilgorg the Bloodthirsty'” Trinity pointed out.

“...Maybe something a little less violent...” Nauka murmured, her finger shrinking back a bit.

“Hm~ 'Single man looking for romance, must not mind a pudgy body, and has experience rubbing oil in all the right places'...Lady Nauka-” Serenity began.

“No” Nauka refused.

“This quest seems interesting, apparently a man is long overdue to pay his rent money on a house he is borrowing, but refuses to leave, and is supposedly armed” Trinity said.

“Interesting, any more details?” Nauka asked.

“Simply that the resident is a male wielding magic, and reports say he has been meddling with strange artifacts. On several nights eye-witnesses have reported a strange glow emanating from the house, and his loud grunts echoing inside” Trinity finished.

“You've got me curious, you know what that means don't you?” Nauka smiled.

“I believe our lady has chosen her first quest” Serenity answered.

“Correct! Let us assist in kicking out a freeloader, and collect our reward” Nauka declared grabbing the quest paper and entering the guild hall with her twin maids behind her.

The guild was relatively small and unimpressive, the wood floor needed a good sweeping, and only a small number of actual adventurers sat in the round tables discussing their journeys. All eyes now focused on Nauka's attractive figure as her heels clicked away at the wood before reaching the counter and slamming the quest paper in front of the young red-headed woman manning the hall.

“I wish to complete this quest, make haste and give me permission to do so!” Nauka declared.

“...Okay...” the long wavy-red headed girl replied backing away a bit before reaching under the table and pulling out a piece of paper.

“J-just sign this; basically what it means is, if the job is complete regardless of how it's done, then the reward will go to whoever signed this...also it means that we won't be held accountable for any injuries or death while attempting said quest” the Ginger girl replied.

“Death? Lady Nauka, perhaps we should take a second look at the lonely, oil obsessed man's quest instead?” Trinity tried to convince.

“No need I had already signed! This task will be complete before the end of the day. Let this mark the day that I Nauka, daughter of Seretique, and genius will complete this feat and save your puny nondescript village!” She heroically declared to the guild.

The room was silent, not a single cheer, or even a raised eyebrow as Nauka's heroic stance was slowly sinking and she shrunk back hunched over herself as if having done something rather embarrassing. Not even the assuring applause from her two maids can save her from the sinking feeling of being ignored yet again as she left the building.

“I simply do not understand, I recall Clemaense given a standing ovation whenever she enters a room, and even a parade in her honor...why is my presence so...nonchalant and uninteresting to these peasants?” Nauka murmured.

“Perhaps her accomplishments far surpass your own...but if it makes you feel any better Lady Nauka, I highly doubt she can accomplish half of the inventions you have created” Trinity tried to assure.

“...You have been locked in your manor for some time now lady Nauka, perhaps the world has forgotten about you” Serenity explained.

“If that's the case then it would appear as if it would take more than just my order to persuade our culprit to leave his residence” Nauka murmured.

“Life is a cruel mistress” Serenity declared.

“...But if my title and power are so weak, then why do you two still follow me?” Nauka was confused.

“Because you hired us” Serenity began.

“Because we're your maids” Trinity added.

“...That's right...” Nauka murmured feeling down before letting her maids finish their declaration.

“And because we're also your friends” Serenity, and Trinity both declared with smiles of their own.

Nauka paused taking in their words before her lips quivered into a wide smile, and her eyes shone with tears.

“That's*sniffle*-that's right! My resolve has returned, let us finish this quest post-haste and show the world, and mother our scientific might!” Nauka cheered.

“We're with you all the way Lady Nauka” Trinity said.

“To the ends of the world and back Lady Nauka” Serenity assured.

Knowing she has the support of good people by her side, Nauka regained her vigor and the three wasted no time hurrying to the man's abode to turn him homeless.

“So~ is this the place?” Nauka asked staring at a one story wooden house on top of a small hill.

At that point they noticed a faint glow from behind the windows.

“I believe this meets all the criteria” Serenity explained.

“Well then, I shall go in alone, I want you two to set up my emergency exit, I believe it is time to test it should the worse case scenario occurs” Nauka explained.

“Please refrain from doing anything drastic Lady Nauka, your powers are not as strong as-” Trinity began.

“I am well aware of my strengths and weaknesses Trinity, I shan't be needed a reminder, now then I'm off” Nauka quickly replied as she headed towards the house.

Serenity and Trinity wasted no time setting the equipment they had brought and went to work installing the bits and pieces together as they had done so in several practice runs.

Nauka knocked on the door, waiting for it to open her ears pick up a faint cackling sound coming from the other side before the door swung open revealing a lanky man in his early thirties though aged to forties from his blood-shot eyes, thick black unkempt beard, and soft brown shirt, slacks, and shoes stained in several areas.

“(Good heavens he reeks of self love, and sweat)” Nauka gasped in her thoughts.

The man stared wide-eyed at Nauka but quickly glared at her.

“What do you want?” He asked.

“Oh! W-well I am Nauka, daughter of Seretique, and renowned genius” Nauka introduced herself.

“Never heard of you” the man replied.

“Ignoring that...in any case I have come to either collect your rent money, or to evict you from your home, and I will not take no for an answer” Nauka explained.

“...Would you like to come in?” The man eyes leered at her.

Normally any sane person would look at his suspicious glare and turn the other way, and while Nauka knew that better than anyone, she did still have a job to do, and she wasn't about to abort her first quest and make a fool out of herself.

“...You are too kind” Nauka replied with practice grace and a forced smile.

The smell was a mix of nausea and nostalgia, the smell this man carried was all over the single room, but there was also another smell she can recall. The smell of discovery, all around the room were tubes, and chemicals of various liquids, and a strange metal machine attached to it all with an oval glass in the center glowing a bright white.

“Good heavens this is quite the sight!” Nauka exclaimed.

“I wouldn't expect you to understand, or anyone for that matter” the man murmured.

“On the contrary I am a woman who fancies these sorts of hobbies, may I ask for a little tour?” Nauka asked.

The man paused, as he was about to reach for a hidden knife under his pants he decided against it, and humor her request.

“...This machine, my creation has been an idea of mine for nearly a decade” the man began.

“Oh? Do tell, I'm all ears...” Nauka assured finding a wooden chair and sitting on it, her legs crossed and exposed showing off her leggings.

“...I-I am Daren I have been studying magic for years now, everyone laughed at me, 'why would a man study magic when they will never surpass a magical girl, or sorceress?' They said over and over again” Daren began.

Nauka's narrow eyes from dealing with the stench were now fully open, her attention now drawn to him.

“I have explained a way to sustain, maintain and later absorb spirit energy and manipulate it to the owner's whim. Don't you see? The weak can become strong! My invention will put us at an equal level with the magical girls, and even the demon lord's daughters with enough stored” Daren explained.

“Interesting, so your machine keeps it all locked in, and in pristine condition until you need it, and then you absorb it all at once? What about the repercussions? Can the body truly withstand such power all at once?” Nauka was genuinely interested.

“Ah~ so you're not as dim-witted as I suspected. I must apologize, I had underestimated your intelligence. As of yet I haven't tested it...anyways no one would fund my project, so I had to build it on my own, and use my own spiritus for this machine to store” Daren said.

“(That would explain the smell)” Nauka thought.

“My machine has been storing my spiritus for weeks! I have been feeding it my seed, and now it seems like I must put it to use...your coming here is no mere coincidence” Daren said.

“(Oh boy he's gonna involve me isn't he?)” Nauka thought.

“For you see, a woman of your status must have incredible power, with your help and my invention we can rule this world! We can overthrow the Demon Lord and rule as king and queen” Daren invited.

Nauka took in his words, the thought of overthrowing her mother, and showing her sisters what she's truly capable of was enticing to say the least.

“Mmm~ I do love a man with power~” she purred as she stood up, and sauntered over to him.

Even closed off to society her natural charms gifted to her by her mother and sisters were still strong.

“W-well I-I uh~ have a lot of power to give” Daren replied growing red.

“Ah~mmm~yeah, I know this is your first time~ but~ that's not all bad” she whispered closed to his ear as she circled him, her dainty finger sliding along his chest, and traveling along his back causing him to shiver.

“S-so you agree? Once I absorb enough I can have powers rivaling a god!” Daren was growing confident, and growing something else in his pants.

“Ohh~yes~ and I'd be more than happy to help you release even more spiritus than you could ever excrete on your own” Nauka moaned as her hands moved all across her waist, her tummy and gliding across her breasts before she crossing her arms and hugging herself.

The man gulped, his body sweating, his erection at full mast, he wanted nothing more than to ravish Nauka right then and there.

“And this machine...Oh~ this machine is~is~” Nauka purred, her voice growing louder and higher pitched as she seemed to be reaching an orgasm.

“Is a giant hunk of shit” she suddenly declared with a deadpan tone.

Daren's world was suddenly crushed, and all that was left was darkness.

“I mean, did you draw the schematics yourself on crayon after some way~ cool dream you had, and in that mind-state you thought 'I'll just slap together a bunch of stuff, bind it all with rope or whatever, and just hope for the best?” Nauka replied.

“I knew it! You're just like the rest of them!” Daren wailed.

“You made shit! And you know it you undergraduate! This thing is never going to work!” Nauka cried out.

“I'll show you! I'll show you all!” Daren cried out.

He punched the oval glass and in a moment's notice all the power stored in the machine suddenly traveled inside his body.

His muscles rippled, his veins jutted out, and he cried out to the heavens glowing brightly as his hair stood upright and spiky.

“Oh dear, he looks truly angry” Nauka realized.

“Witness my power! The power of a god!” Daren's voice echoed across time and space.

“Oh darling...how the mighty have fallen” Nauka sighed.

“You still undermine my power!” Daren cried out his voice shaking the earth itself.

“Unfortunately I do, I'm already seeing the repercussions as we speak” Nauka replied taking a step back to prepare.

“You shall be my first experiment to test the power of my-my...what-” Daren began to groan as his body began to shake.

“And here I thought you were a genius, boy did I get my hopes up” Nauka sighed.

“The power! It-it's-” Daren cried out.

“Sounds like my theory is correct, I was always curious to see entropy face-to-face” Nauka said.

“Wh-entropy!? What is this!?” Daren cried out as his body shook and glow even brighter.

“Your body is a closed space, and much like real life, powerful energy such as the one you acquired can only sustain itself for so long sweetie. That's what I call entropy. Power in a closed space as feeble as your body can only stay stable for a brief moment before chaos ensues” Nauka realized.

“No! No-no-no! My power! My body!” Daren cried out.

“Oh dear this is gonna hurt isn't it? if I don't do something...oh right! Emergency plan. Well Daren it was a pleasure meeting your acquaintance, but I must be off! Ta-ta~” Nauka declared before pulling out a small orb, and focusing her power on it.

Daren's body now nothing more than a large ball of energy quickly began to expand, and reach critical mass.

Outside, Serenity, and Trinity watch as the building glows brighter and brighter before exploding in a beam of light rendering the building and area around it to ash and fire.

“Lady Nauka~!” The twins shouted to their lady, and friend.

They quickly turned to the metal pad they had set up, waiting. Seconds lasting minutes and nothing happened, the girls were ready to panic until the machine began to vibrate uncontrollably and in strands of light and energy came Nauka's form, and then herself entirely falling and being caught by her two maids.

“WHAAAHAA~! OH! Oh! I'm alive...whoa! A-And my internal organs are still inside me~ yay~!” Nauka cheered though sounded rather exhausted.

“Lady Nauka! Are you injured?” Serenity asked.

“Only on the inside dear...for a moment, I had met a kindred spirit...but it was all for naught I'm afraid” Nauka sighed.

“Lady Nauka, you had us worried you know” Trinity replied.

“Oh dear, am I truly so weak that even a feeble human opponent would cause distraught among my peers?” Nauka smiled.

“Maybe, but no human, or mammone alive can match your wit Lady Nauka” Serenity praised.

“Oh? A compliment from you? Did my body traverse an alternate dimension were a Serenity exist solely to praise me?” Nauka smirked.

“That theory of yours is nothing more than a theory still my lady, now let us return to the guild and collect our fee” Serenity grinned back.

“Well I do declare this quest, and my invention a rousing success! I shall call it! The 'Respawn'!” Nauka declared.

“As you wish Lady Nauka” Trinity agreed.

Practically dragging her body half-way before she was capable of walking on her own, she reports that she had to cheat a bit, and use what little magical energy she had to power her device.

“Next time, my invention will work solely on it's own, without the use of magic” Nauka assured.

“And we look forward to the day it becomes a reality...I see the guild hall now” Trinity declared.

They reached the building and Nauka reported her findinds to the ginger girl still running the counter.

“Yes, we saw the explosion from here, it appears as if you had no choice in the matter. We hope the land owner will not be too discouraged, but a deal is a deal. Here is the gold for accomplishing your quest.

Nauka acquired 100 cyrunes

“...That's it? That barely covers the delicacies I need to entertain my sister who wishes to visit!” Nauka exclaimed.

“W-we're terribly sorry, but it was a low ranking mission...p-perhaps if you slay 'Gilgorg the Bloodthirsty' then your reward will be greater” the little ginger girl squeaked.

Nauka and her team left with their money disappointed.

“Well...at least we can have the snack needed for one day. Tomorrow we'll try something else” Nauka assured.

“Of course Lady Nauka” Trinity said.

“We did say we will follow you wherever, the first time is always the most frustrating after all” Serenity said.

“Correct! Now then, I'm gonna need a bath before I slumber, I still smell a little bit of his sweat and sperm on me-ugh~” Nauka was disgusted.
Quest 2
Spoiler: show
“Come on~ little guy you can do it” Nauka egged on, licking her lips and staring excitedly at 'Moving Box 2.0' (name not official)

After giving it another jolt of controlled electricity she waited anxiously as the little metal box shook and trembled as ever little gear and cog begant to gyrate and soon the wheels began to spin, and it was mobile.

“Y~OHOHO~WHOO~! It's alive again! I'm a genius-whoa!” Nauka cheered but quickly grabbed it as it was once again on the verge of falling off the table.

“Never make the same mistake twice, life lesson number 1 little buddy” Nauka taught.

“Lady Nauka? Now that you are in a better mood, perhaps it is time to complete another quest?” Serenity interrupted her victory.

“In a minute! I still have notes to take, and so many ideas to fulfill. If I can make it move on it's own who knows what else I can make it do!?” Nauka said.

“But Lady Nauka, our resources are growing slim, it has been a few days since your last quest, and we are literally scraping the bottom of the barrel as it is” Trinity informed.

“I suppose a break is in order, very well. I shall prepare post-haste” Nauka agreed.

Dressed in her formal best though she opted for a navy-blue dress with matching colored high heels, and black leggings, her hair done in a bun that resembled a budding rose with a gold pin keeping it steady. Lastly her lab-coat fresh from the laundry and gone were the smells of her last outing.

They left her manor and once again set out to the town to investigate any new possible quests to be had, and upon reaching the bulletin board they were pleased to see new options available.

“Well if there's one thing this town has, it is that there is always something to do” Nauka was pleased.

“Indeed my Lady...look the pudgy oil man has increased the reward for his favor-” Serenity began.

“If you remind me of that foul man's request one more time Serenity, I will have you do it in my stead...with your tongue!” Nauka warned.

“Noted...in that case how about helping a construction crew rebuild a house that was recently blown up?” Serenity suggested.

“I won't dirty my hands with grub work Serenity” Nauka said.

“Don't you feel even somewhat responsible?” Serenity asked.

“T-that could have been any blown up house it's...more common than you think” Nauka stammered.

“According to this members are warned that a foul smell of sex permeates the air” Serenity.

“Trinity, did you find me anything worth while?” Nauka chose to ignore Serenity.

“I have my Lady, it appears as if a rogue Azure Slime has been troubling merchants and travelers along the road, and wishes for someone to either marry her, or have her removed in another manner” Trinity explained.

“Sounds easy enough, we can do that much” Nauka said.

“You are making a habit of expelling others out of their home Lady Nauka” Serenity said.

“Don't remind me, anyways let us attempt this quest!” Nauka declared pointing at the paper.

“...Did you want one of us to grab it for you?” Trinity asked.

With paper in hand Nauka entered the guild and slammed the quest paper on the front desk eliciting a yelp from the hostess who was looking the other way.

“Yipe! U-um-how can I-oh it's you?” The ginger haired girl realized.

“Yes it is I Lady Nauka daughter of Seretique, genius...” Nauka began but once again realized the lack of interest everyone had.

“...Right well we appreciate your enthusiasm to help the populace...Nauka, I'm sure over time the rest of the town will feel more appreciative” she promised.

“*Sigh~ yeah-I suppose...just give me permission” Nauka turned gloomy.

“Approved...good luck” the ginger girl waved good-bye as they left the guild hall.

“According to reports the Azure Slime is usually spotted south of town a few miles away, how are your wings my Lady?” Serenity asked.

Nauka had already removed her lab-coat, and handed it to Trinity. Nauka's dark purple bat wings stretched and flexed finally in the open after a long time hidden in her coat.

“Good thing I prefer dresses with an exposed back, but I must admit it has been a while since I flown” Nauka replied flapping her wings to stretch them out.

With her wings stretched she lead her Polimana maids to the sky to save themselves some time.

They landed in a dirt path out-looking the town a few miles away.

“You know I must admit, it is a small, petty town with people who are...less than savory but the light of the sun makes it looks quite adorable from a distance. Look! I can even see my manor...how come no one visits if they can see it from this far” Nauka said.

“Perhaps they have better things to-eh~or they are simply too intimidated by your presence, and refrain from bothering you” Serenity said.

“Yes! Perhaps you are right, ah~ it's not easy being so noble” Nauka had her ego nourished for the day.

“Where shall we start looking lady Nauka?” Trinity asked.

“Hm~perhaps we won't have to look very hard...” Nauka said pointing at blue object ahead of them.

The target was already spotted pooling out of the brush and leaving a trail, her hair a trailing waterfall that waves side to side down to her base. Her body shapely and round in all the right places, but her frown and worried expression was holding back her beauty, turning it into pity.

The three and the Azure Slime spotted a wagon heading into town, and the Azure Slime was quick to approach it.

“Home~? Home~...” the Azure Slime repeated.

“Uh-n-no thanks I'm busy” the merchant riding the cart replied ignoring her chanting and moving faster to avoid her.

A small group of adventurers came next, and the Azure Slime also approached them.

“Home? Home~” she repeated.

“W-we uh, don't really have a home you know” the male swordman replied.

Hearing a response other than no, the Azure Slime gave a faint smile and moved closer to the man.

“Man~be attached~be with~Azul~?” The Azure Slime was hopeful.

“U-um~n-no thanks I'm sort of-” he began.

“He's too busy to be dealing with you!” The Magical Girl in their party blurted out pulling him away, and dragging the rest of the party to do something else.

The Azure Slime's smile slowly drew back into a frown, her wavy slimy hair now regressed, straight and droopy.

“Well the description fits her perfectly...well let's do our job now” Nauka said.

“Lady Nauka, I know you're not a social butterfly-” Serenity began.

“And neither are you if I recall” Nauka retorted.

“Ignoring that, but perhaps some tact is in order. She seems to have bad luck as it is” Serenity said.

“Considering she has been at it long enough to create a problem enough to be posted on the bulletin at the guild. I believe going easy on her would be best” Trinity said.

“In other words, no explosions necessary Lady Nauka” Serenity said.

“Ugh! You make me look like some sort of merciless dominatrix...I already have a sister that fits that description you know” Nauka said approaching the Azure Slime.

The Azure Slime glanced to her side spotting Nauka and shrank back pulling away into the woods.

“Wait-wait I'm not a magical girl no need to run from me!” Nauka quickly assured.

The Azure Slime paused ready to listen to her.

“So~ what brings you here...um~” Nauka began.

“...Name? Azul~...home~?” The Azure Slime Azul repeated.

“You keep repeating that...surely there's a river or stream for you to rest your head on isn't there?” Nauka replied.

“...Home...lost...Home...my home~” the Azure Slime was starting to feel worse.

“Are you lost? Is that it? I know your type aren't that intelligent, but even your kind can remember where you live” Nauka said.

Azul shook her head, and left for the forest.

“Hey where are you going!? Come back here” Nauka repeated following Azul deeper into the woods.

Her two maids followed suit, Azul ignoring all of Nauka's demands until they came across a clearing and with it; a pond.

“...Oh! Oh dear this is...this sucks...” Nauka was surprised.

The pond was littered with debris, the blue pristine water now dulled and fish-less due to reckless littering from past merchants and adventurers.

“Home...gone~taken away~need to find...new home” Azul explained.

“I suppose a small pond like this would not be cared for, or even noticed by the populace, and so with the water dirtied she would naturally find somewhere else” Serenity began.

“Unfortunately she can't travel very far either, the season we are in means the warm temperatures will linger for some time, the nearest water source too far for her to travel to” Trinity said.

“And so~ this complicates things, not to worry. As a genius this problem will be resolved in a matter of moments! Trinity my coat please?” Nauka said.

Trinity approached her Lady as she shuffled through one of it's pockets and pulled out a large flask.

“...I always forget how deep your pockets can be Lady Nauka” Serenity said.

“Here get in this flask and I'll find you a new home” Nauka said.

“Home...you have~home?” Azul asked.

“I do, and I know of a second pond on the other side of town, we'll take you there” Nauka said.

“You~bring Azul home~?” Azul's hair popped back to it's wavy, and rushing waves, her body almost glistening with joy.

“Sure we can-wait! What are you-wha~cold~!” Nauka cried out as she was hugged by Azul.

“Hug~Azul~happy~new home~!” Azul cheered covering Nauka in slime before she willingly went into the flask.

“Ew~ I'm all gooey~” Nauka whined.

“But you smell like blueberries now” Serenity replied.

Nauka paused, silent as she recalled all the smart-ass remarks Serenity has thrown at her.

“...Yes...and thus we completed our quest, and we must celebrate right?” Nauka said slowly turning to Serenity.

“...Lady Nauka?” Serenity felt a sudden dark omen.

“Since I don't pay you, how about I repay you by honoring our friendship with...skin-ship?” Nauka began to walk towards Serenity, arms outstretched and fingers wiggling.

“P-Perhaps we should-” Serenity began.

“Give me a hug~” the Slime covered Nauka squeezed Serenity before she could escape.

Given the fact that the slime was too sticky for them to fly properly; the team had to walk back to town. Trinity given the task of holding Azul in her flask and attempting to hitch a ride from any travelers willing to risk staining their carts.

“I will remember them all for ignoring me, Serenity take note!” Nauka growled under her breath as another cart refused to help them.

“Considering your lab-coat is the only thing that's not covered in slime I wouldn't advise me attempting to grab it to retrieve your notepad Lady Nauka” Serenity replied.

They reached the guild staining the floor with their slime and displayed Azul still in the flask, a smiley face present in the viscous blue goo in the bottle showing Azul's contentment.

“Great...here you go” the Ginger attendant presented them with their reward.

Nauka acquired 50 Cyrunes!

“This would be barely enough to cover someone to clean my dress you know” Nauka pointed out.

“But it is enough to purchase groceries to eat for a bit” Trinity said.

“Right, but before that, you! Tell your guild leaders, and the rest of the town while you're at it, to stop dumping their trash on ponds and empty fields! We all have to share this world, the least we can do is keep it clean! Understood!?” Nauka scolded.

“I-I'll let them know-thank you!” The ginger stammered.

They left the guild in slightly better spirits as enough slime fell off them that they could fly properly to the pond to drop off Azul. Upon reaching said pond, Nauka pulled the cork and plopped Azul in front of the pond.

“There you go, this water is much fresher than the one littered” Nauka presented.

“Water...cool~clean~” Azul admired.

“Well if that takes care of everything let us be off, come on you two I feel an hour long bath is in order...maybe two hours” Nauka said.

The girls flew off leaving Azul behind, she stared at them reaching a mansion and then stared back at her pond.

“Home...Nauka...Home?...Azul's Home...” Azul murmured to herself before turning around and heading towards the manor.
Quest 3
Spoiler: show
Nauak returns to her manor, the sky abundantly blue and bright as her new life is about to begin. Upon entering her abode she is greeted by a loud uproar of applause and cheer from her many followers.

“Oh goodness! All this for just little old me?” Nauka replied not sounding surprised in the slightest.

“Greetings Lady Nauka, the institute of research and discovery has awarded you a medal of accomplishment for your many achievements in the field of science” Serenity declared dressed in her best formal blue.

“Again? I'm starting to run out of space for all my trophies and medals-ohohoho~” Nauka waved it off.

“Lady Nauka the prince of Pridolae had rejected his arranged marriage to a neighboring princess, and wishes to court you instead, and has offered half his kingdom in exchange for your hand” Trinity revealed dressed in her very fitting green.

“But I've already have the duke of Karpathia, and several others awaiting my hand in marriage, but I shall try to give him time to meet with him” Nauka sighed.

Out of nowhere Seretique herself burst from the crowd of followers.

“My child! I have retired my title, and shall give you the honor of being the new Demon Lord!” She suddenly declared to which everyone erupted in applause.

“Oh thank you everyone! You're all so-” Nauka began until she looked out the window.

The crowd watched as a giant tsunami suddenly came roaring across the country side and headed straight for Nauka.

“Everyone we should-” Nauka quickly turned to her crowd, but found herself all alone just as the wave hit her, and everything went dark.

Opening her eyes again she found herself staring at her bedroom ceiling, only it looked much more bluer than usual, and she also discovered that she was swallowing anything but air.

Quickly sitting upright her vision still blue she spots her two maids staring back at her rather stoically.

“Good morning Lady Nauka” Serenity bowed.

“Good morning Azul” Trinity bowed.

“Azul! The Slime!? How did she get in here, why is she here, and get her off me!” Nauka cried out as she flailed her arms.

Unfortunately to her two maids her decree sounded more like...

“Blah-grah-bla!? *Gargle-gargle*-abba!” Nauka cried out as she flailed her arms.

“...Perhaps we should remove Azul from Lady Nauka before we lose her” Serenity suggested.

“That would be the wise thing to do Serenity” Trinity agreed.

They pulled the two appart with Nauka gasping for breath and Azul sitting on the bed with a small smile on her face.

“Would you like some tea Azul?” Serenity asked.

“Azul~ okay~ thank~ you~” Azul assured.

“Perhaps I may offer you a snack until Lady Nauka is ready to play?” Trinity offered.

“Blueberries~yummy~Azul~wants that~” Azul asked.

“W-why*wheeze~* are you treating her so casually and politely after I almost drowned!?” Nauka gasped.

“You told us to treat guests with utmost care and consideration, and Azul is as good as anyone to help us train in that seeing as how no one ever bothers to visit you Lady Nauka” Serenity explained.

Nauka clenched her fist, shutting her eyes and trembling slightly, she can't really call Serenity's explanation disrespectful if it was true.

“What my sister is trying to say is...Azul bears no ill will, and she was happy enough to share the bed with you after you yourself slept” Trinity added.

“Wait she sneaked in while I was asleep? What about our security measures?” Lady Nauka asked.

“If I recall you scrapped them for extra parts on your inventions after your mother stopped lending you Cyrunes, the most we have in terms of defense are locks on our doors” Trinity explained.

“Not to worry though, as I have mentioned no one bothers to visit you anyways so it is very unlikely that a burglar would also attempt to pay us any mind” Serenity said.

“Neither of what you two said made me feel better...I'm all slimy now...just accommodate Azul while I go get changed” Nauka sighed.

After a shower and a new set of clothes Nauka returned to her living room to find Azul and her two maids already hitting it off.

“She's a good catcher” Serenity commented as she tossed another blueberry and watch Azul catch it by extending her slime at it.

“Your dresses~very cute~Azul jealous~” Azul commented.

“Thank you~” Serenity and Trinity replied.

“Well, nice to see things are in order here...now then Azul” Nauka turned to her new guest.

“Nau~ka~” Azul replied staring up at her, and beaming with a wide smile.

Nauka flinched from the cuteness, but quickly recovered.

“*Ahem*-as I was saying, what happened to the pond we introduced you to just yesterday?” Nauka asked.

“Pond~nice...water clean~but Nauka lives here~want to stay with~Nau~ka~” Azul bashfully explained, her face turning a darker shade of blue.

“It appears as if she has been smitten by you Lady Nauka, I for one support these kinds of relationships and wish you two well” Serenity praised.

“Shut up Serenity-anyways-well-um~ I'm flattered really Azul, but being with me, well it's a big responsibility you know! Lot's of duties to be upheld daily” Nauka said.

“The tea water won't boil itself” Serenity said.

“Signing the deliver person gifting us with cakes and snacks is also a heavy burden” Trinity said.

“Don't undermine your work you two! What I'm trying to say is...perhaps you are better off being attached to someone who can take care of you better...and is male, one who isn't engaged in dangerous quests just to get by” Nauka explained.

“No~Azul wants to stay~! Azul will work hard~for Nauka~!” Azul pleaded practically falling on her non-existent knees and squeezing at Nauka's knees.

“Wah~! No I just changed! Okay-okay I'll give you a chance!” Nauka quickly replied

“Yay~” Azul cheered though this time she hugged her out of joy then desperation.

Finally leaving the manor the four girls set out to the bulletin board just outside the town guild to accept more requests.

“Hm~ nothing of real interest these days” Nauka glanced at the requests.

One request demanded a pretty warrior girl to escort a man on his vacation to the hot springs, while another had asked for help moving rubble away from a road merchants often use.

“If I may be so bold to suggest Lady Nauka, some of these requests while don't pay very much can be easily accomplished by one or two people...if we split the workload we collect two rewards in one day” Serenity suggested.

“An excellent idea! I'm glad to hear some useful information coming out of your mouth!” Nauka applauded.

“...I'll just take the compliment” Serenity sighed.

“The question we have to ask ourselves though is who will take on what?” Trinity asked.

Nauka scanned the board, and lurched back seeing that same request about a man needing a helpful masseuse for his use, and suddenly Nauka was struck with an idea.

“(Hm~ she's no Erumo, but she'll do...)” Nauka thought. “Oh Azul~ darling~” Nauka called out in a sing-song voice.

“Azul~ here~” Azul sang back thinking they were playing a game.

“I need a huge favor from you sweetie~. Think of it as an initiation to join the ranks of nobles such as myself” Nauka declared.

“Azul~noble~? Azul not want to be noble~Azul wants to be with~Nauka~” Azul said.

“(You're not making me feel better about his Azul!)” Nauka cried out in her thoughts. “I-I was just thinking to-uh prove yourself, I want you to take on this specific quest to prove your merit. If you can accomplish this simple task for me. Then I will consider you as my loyal servant and remain by my side no questions asked” Nauka declared presenting the quest to Azul.

“...Azul~not oily~Azul~sticky~” Azul said.

“Don't sweat the details, I'm sure they'll love you all the same. We on the other hand shall take on...this quest!” Nauka declared grabbing a random quest from the board.

“'The rabbit population has increased dramatically and has taken a toll on the land, remove only a certain number of rabbits to control their population'” Trinity read out-loud.

“At this rate, the eviction quests will end up being your specialty Lady Nauka” Serenity noticed.

“Coincidence and nothing more! Now then, what say you Azul? Are you up for the task?” Nauka asked.

“Azul~do her best~! Make Nauka~happy~” Azul looked committed.

“Excellent! Now let's go accept these quests together shall we!” Nauka replied smiling.

The girls entered the guild hall were they favorite, and possibly only red-headed receptionist awaited them.

“We keep meeting like this, and people will start talking” Nauka greeted.

“E-eh!? I'm not really into that! H-honest” she replied blushing.

“No matter dear, can you approve these quests for us?” Nauka asked.

“S-sure” she replied.

“Thank you...I just realized I don't even know your name” Nauka said.

“My name is Abigail Longheart, but most of the regulars here just call me 'Abby' for short” she introduced herself.

“Well...Abby, thank you very much, we shall return post-haste!” Nauka declared to an unimpressed group of adventurers.

They left the guild on an empty note and guided Azul to her destination seeing as how it was along the way to the forest the rabbits were holed up in.

“This house is quiet lovely” Trinity complimented.

“In any-case, Azul do us proud. Just knock on the door and do as the nice guy tells you okay?” Nauka explained.

“Yes~! Azul~will do~her best~” Azul assured.

“Good girl! We'll be back here to pick you up later today so stay put after you're done okay?” Nauka said.

“Nauka~! Thank you~for giving Azul~a chance~” Azul smiled broadly.

“(Not gonna cry-not gonna cry-*sniff*-not gonna cry~)” Nauka cried out as she quickly turned away to wipe something in her eye that was definitely not tears.

“A-anyways! Take care Azul” Nauka quickly recovered walking away and not looking back.

“Take care Azul” Serenity and Trinity replied bowing their heads and returning to Nauka's side.

Azul waved good-bye to her new friends and turned to the door giving it a knock, which was impressive to do considering she was nothing but slime.

The door opened revealing what the quest described accurately. A portly man just a head shorter than Azul herself. Azul smiled and showed the man the quest paper to which he squealed in delight.

“Oh~what a glorious day~ and my aren't you looking...stunning...yes I think you will do just fine my dear. Please come in” the man greeted as he eyed Azul's body up and down.

Meanwhile Nauka continued walking ahead as she struggled to ignore the stone cold stares of her two maids.

“...I'm sure she'll be fine...” Nauka replied though she didn't sound so sure herself.

“If you insist lady Nauka” Serenity replied also no sounding convincing.

“I believe we are in the proximity of the rabbits den...watch your step lady Nauka, there are burrows everywhere” Trinity reported.

Sure enough for every tree they saw, a burrow could be seen, and the red glowing eyes of rabbits glow in the darkness of their homes.

“...The plan is simple ladies, grab a few rabbits, fly several miles north, and leave them into some other land for their guild to deal with” Nauka said.

“That sounds incredibly irresponsible lady Nauka” Trinity confessed.

“Are you implying the neighboring town guild didn't do this to us?” Nauka said.

“Well it would make them more reputable if they simply escorted the bunnies rather than massacre them in mass” Serenity figured.

“Right! We get the job done, and no innocent bunny blood will be on our hands or our conscious” Nauka said.

At that point a rabbit jumped out of it's burrow and planted itself firmly on Nauka's face.

Elsewhere Azul was lead deeper into the man's residence, following contently and carefree; so carefree in fact she even hummed a little tune to herself as the man explained a sudden situation.

“I must apologize, you see I was only telling half the truth! Y-you see I do want you to massage me, but only to test your capabilities! I know Erumos are nowhere near this location considering how far we are from the coast so you must understand why I was so cautious about hiring outside help” the man explained.

“It's okay~Nauka~ said to Azul to do her best~Azul will help~with whatever~” Azul assured.

“That's very kind of you, now then let me introduce you to your real clients” the man said.

He opened a pair of oak double doors and revealed a small outdoor spring where several attractive men of all kinds of bodies, skin tone, hair color, and handsome eyes and smiles stared at their new masseuse.

“You see we travel from town to town to offer relief to lonely mammone and women who dont have mates for themselves. We treat them like royalty and build their confidence and skills to increase their chances of finding a true partner, but even we need to rest and be relaxed ourselves. We came here to one of my many secluded properties to rest and rejuvenate for a few days before we travel once more. I had made that request because I wanted to treat my workers to a nice young woman who would treat them, and you hold a lot of promise Azul” the man explained.

Azul's whole body turned a darker shade of blue.

“What say you my lady? Won't you please indulge us and offer relief to a bunch of hard working men?” One of the half naked males approached Azul.

“Don't hog this beautiful creature all to yourself, I can assure you, we will compensate you thoroughly for your hard work madame” a second tall man with wide shoulders, strong abs, and flowing blonde hair replied.

“Yes, we are well relaxed as we are, and for your duties we will offer you a free taste of our own gentle touch, all for our fair maiden” a third man with sharp, black hair and dressed in a very sharp and fancy suit replied, as he offered Azul a blue rose to place on her head.

Azul's mouth quivered as her eyes were wide and smile brimming, the best she could do to answer them was a rapid nodding of her head.

Meanwhile...

“It's in my eyes! It's in my eyes~!” Nauka cried out as she struggled to wrestle several rabbits off of her.

“Lady Nauka please stand still, your flailing about is making it very difficult to assist you!” Trinity exclaimed.

Serenity was unavailable to comment as she was buried in a pile of rabbits with only the tips of her butterfly wings being noticeable.

The girls continued to struggle delivering as much as they could carry over the trees and towards another pasture miles away. Which as simple as that is, was actually rather taxing on their bodies as while one rabbit was practically weightless, a whole bundle of rabbits was a whole other story.

Elsewhere...

Azul has had her fill of sweat, and treats as her slimy gelatinous touch was just the cure the men needed.

“Your cool slime is doing wonders for my back darling, I have a half mind to whisk you away for myself” one of the men complimented as Azul went to work scrubbing away at his back.

“And my this girl is thorough, all the sweat I shed in the steam room all gone thanks to her magic touch. I wonder if it's okay to leave a tip?” A second man praised.

“I hope you don't mind our selfish demands my dear, but I speak for all of us when we say where grateful for your help...Would you like another blueberry my sweet?” A third man offered with a golden bowl of blueberries.

“Yes~please~thank you~” Azul replied as she opened her mouth for the man to feed her directly.

Hours passed, and as the sun was ready to set Azul was given to go ahead to leave and report her job a success.

“Thank you so much for your help my dear! We'll be leaving by tomorrow, but we'll never forget all you've done for us here! Until next time-tata~” the portly man waved.

“Bye~bye~” Azul waved back outside the building before the man nodded and closed the door.

“...Nauka~said~wait here~” Azul reminded herself as she stood on that same spot for a good half-hour.

At last Nauka, Serenity, and Trinity have returned from the woods after they had escorted the desired amount of rabbits off the town's land; Serenity still coughing up rabbit fur every now and again, and Trinity doing damage control for a weeping Nauka.

“Lady Nauka, please do not cry, your scratches and bruises have all vanished, and you are looking stunning once more” Trinity assured.

“I'm not crying because of that-*sniff-hic-sob!* I-I'm crying b-because I s-sent poor innocent Azul to some weirdo's home to-to-*whaaa~ahaha~*” Nauka sobbed. “A-and-*hic-sob*-s-she was actually a pretty nice girl~*whaa~*” Nauka continued.

“It will be alright, when we regroup we won't mention anything about her quest, and let her cope on her own until she's ready to speak to us” Trinity assured.

“I-I'm afraid-*hic*-s-she won't look me in the eye anymore~ a-and she was my only real guest~” Nauka continued bawling.

“Nau~ka~!” Azul called out waving to her.

“There she is! Remember you two, keep quiet!” Nauka reminded.

“Of course Lady Nauka” Trinity assured.

Serenity's only answer was to cough up more rabbit fur.

Nauka quickly recollected herself and faced Azul.

“Nau~ka~Azul did her best~! Azul~” Azul began.

“Shh~no more, you don't need to say another word...I just want you to know that whatever happened...it's gonna be alright. You can stay with me for as long as you want!” Nauka declared.

“Really~!? Azul~happy~happy~” Azul was practically jumping for joy.

“I-I can't believe you're so content with staying with me after-no I understand, I promise I will treat you better, starting now! Trinity the basket please” Nauka declared.

Trinity presented Azul with a basket of blueberries.

“We picked some of these on the way back, we thought you deserve them” Nauka said.

“Nau~ka nice! Azul~don't need berries~no more~tummy full~” Azul replied.

“Oh by the gods! How many times did he-no! I'm so sorry Azul...come, let us report our accomplishments so that we may return home all the sooner...and so you may rest your soul” Nauka felt like she was about to cry again.

Total earnings:

Nauka- 550 cyrunes

Azul- 1500 cyrunes plus tip
Quest 4
Spoiler: show
“Alright, I think it's time for a little test run” Nauka mused as she activated her little metal cube with wheels.

The little mechanism jolted to life wheeling itself from point A to B, but Nauka's real concern was point C as it required a planned turn.

The little cubed slowed to a near crawl, Nauka's mouth open and a slight gasp escaped her throat as she saw the tires turn slightly to the right just as she planned it. Her smile was wide, but it was the final challenge at point C that would be the icing on the cake.

The little bot stopped directly at point C, metal joints and springs can be heard being pulled and geared and suddenly...

*sproing*

The little cube did a hop.

Nauka squealed and cheered in delight grabbing her little device and hugging it close to her bosom.

“I knew you could to it! Whahaha~” Nauka cried out.

She rushed out of her lab and towards the dining hall where Azul had just came from her little pond to visit. Serenity and Trinity doing their jobs attending to her needs.

“Nau~ka~” Azul greeted with a wide smile.

“Look! Look! My little invention has progressed so much so quickly!” Nauka declared placing her little invention on the table, and watched it jump two more times.

“Ooo~” Azul gazed.

“I know amazing right!?” Nauka said.

“It is very charming Lady Nauka” Serenity complimented.

“I suppose this means you are ready to begin another quest?” Trinity asked.

“Yes, I am in high spirits and ready to raise more cyrunes for our cause” Nauka declared.

“Can I~ come too~?” Azul asked.

“But of course, we shall endeavor together! To the outside world!” Nauka declared.

“Azul likes it~ when Nauka~ is happy~” Azul marveled.

“It is usually a sign of some unforeseen circumstance” Serenity said.

“Yes, I remember the first time she approached us and shouted 'good news everyone!'” Trinity recalled.

Of towards the guild hall the group of four were now being properly noticed by the populace, a few gave them second glances and Nauka couldn't hide her contentment.

“It is nice to see some genuine appreciation and attention for once. I imagine I'll have this place practically worshiping me in no time!” Nauka said.

“Or it could be we are a rather weird bunch compared to the visitors and residence that come and go” Serenity was quick to rain on her parade.

“I prefer my hypothesis better Serenity, now then here we are” Nauka said now standing in front of the quest board.

While the quests this time around were common to the point of being dull; often times fetch quests or kill quests against certain wild-life or less than wanted bugs or critters. One quest in particular had peaked Nauka's interest.

“Hm!? A passing Ureonggaksi wishes for a teacher to help her children learn about the world? Maybe this would be a good use of my mind” Nauka said.

“You do have a lot to share, and you do connect well with children since you think like them” Serenity said.

“Are you implying that I have the brain of a child?” Nauka sounded offended.

“My sister is simply saying you haven't forgotten what it's like...I think you should partake in this quest” Trinity said.

“...Very well I shall grace these children with my presence!” said as she entered the guild with quest paper on hand.

Inside they are welcomed by Abby the guild clerk sweeping her side of the work area when Nauka presented her with the quest she will be performing.

“Ah! This one, the woman was hopping someone would post soon, I'm sure she will be happy to see you” Abby said.

“Yes indeed, thank you for your approval” Nauka said.

As they began to leave one of the guild members called out to them.

“Oy! You the lot that took care of those rabbits the other day?” A gruff man in leather armor, cap, and a short sword asked.

“Indeed we are adventurer...d-did the other village send you here by any chance?” Nauka was a tad worried he was an assassin from the neighboring village.

“Eh? Nah, I just came to tell you that was a mighty fine job you did there, I don't think anyone has take care of so many rabbits before...you're alright” the man complimented.

“R-really? Girls~ we're finally being noticed~!” Nauka squeaked in a hushed excitement.

With a spring in her high heel step she took to the location marked on the quest paper. The field was just outside the town, and it was relatively empty save for one large snail's shell. Over several feet taller than herself, and surprisingly wide, it rivaled the size of several houses the town residents reside in.

I suppose this is the place...” Nauka murmured.

“Are you nervous Lady Nauka?” Trinity asked.

“Nervous!? Me? Why I couldn't be more confident!” Nauka assured.

“You are ovreflowing with confidence Lady Nauka” Serenity assured her.

“Thank you! Now then...” Nauka began raising her hand ready to knock on the door.

She paused with her hand mid-air for a minute.

Before her maids can push her forward, the door opened slightly and a curious face peeked out.

“U-um...you've been standing there muttering to yourself for a while now...c-can I help you?” A shy voice spoke out in a nervous whisper.

“Oh! I-um-*ahem*-that is to say-uh~!” Nauka sputtered and spewed before a chunk of Azul's slime was tossed at her smacking her in the back of the head.

“Ouch-why you-! Eh~ um! Right well my name is Nauka, I'm sure you've heard of me right?” Nauka said.

“I-I'm sorry, this is the first time we met, I never knew about you until now” the Ureonggaksi meekly replied.

“R-really? Daughter of of the demon lord? Master researcher and up and coming genius?” “Nauka's confidence was slowly rotting away.

The Ureonggaksi shook her head.

“...W-well...I've come to take the job as t-teacher...I-I haven't tought anyone myself, but I am highly e-educated” Nauka stammered.

“Oh that's wonderful to hear, thank you so much for responding so soon, please come inside!” The Ureonggaksi welcomed.

Nauka turned back to her party who appeared to be all smiles.

“Go on Lady Nauka, we'll wait for you right here” Trinity assured.

“Do~ your best~ Nauka~” Azul waved.

“We'll root for you all the way Lady Nauka” Serenity added.

With a quick nod and a deep breath Nauka went inside the large shell shutting the door behind her.

Her home was small, and quaint, a sort of place one truly appreciate the effort and personality put into it. The walls were covered not with wall-paper, but trinkets, memorabilia, pictures, and other assorted items from her many years of traveling.

Nauka also had a good look at the host Ureonggaksi in front of her. Bouncy dark green hair reaching below her shoulders, brown eyes matching the brown shell of her home on a soft round face with a small grin on her cute face. Her figure was modest, almost average on the board if it weren't for the added...snail parts, particularly her second pair of eyes, and the narrow foot making up her lower half. Nauka also noticed her skin was rather glimmering and near transparent, a rather healthy glow if you will.

“Come sit right here, the girls are in the other room, I'll bring them here and make us some tea, just make yourself at home miss Nauka” the Ureonggaksi welcomed.

Waiting idly by tapping her heels on occasion the room was quickly filled out by three more bodies, girls matching the adult Ureonggaksi, they all seemed relatively the same age, triplets perhaps? And height wise they reached Nauka's thighs with one donning her hair in a thick ponytail, a second with curly pigtails, and a third with her hair cut short and parted on the side.

“Hi!” all three piped up at once.

“Oh why hello! Children, I am Nauka! Genius, and your tutor for today!” She introduced herself.

They stared quizzically at her.

“It's true, I don't think she's the type to lie” their mother assured.

“Right! I even have proof of my genius!” Nauka assured.

Meanwhile peeking from the window, Trinity, Serenity, and Azul were spying on their lady watching her intently and squeezing each other trying to peek into the tiny window.

“She's still nervous...wait is she bringing out that metal cube again?” Trinity asked.

“I think Lady Nauka is getting desperate”

“Nau~ka~” Azul grew worried for her.

“Ah! Here it is, tada! This is my little friend I've been working on!” Nauka declared showing off her little mechanical cube.

“It's shiny~” one of the girls marveled.

“I do polish it often” Nauka explained.

“What does it do?” The second girl asked.

“Let me demonstrate!” Nauka was getting exciting.

This in turn caused the girls to get excited as well as she placed the little box on the table.

“I hope it still has enough juice in it” Nauka said.

“Juice? It runs on Apple juice? Or Orange juice?” A girl asked.

“No-no darling it's just a phrase, I mean the battery inside that keeps it on, it's a little something I cooked up on the side” Nauka explained.

“You made that in a kitchen?” the third girl asked.

“Eh~ let me just turn it on” Nauka said flicking a switch on it's back.

The little metal box gave a whirring noise as the children gave a synchronized 'ooo~' that almost sounded like a song and then watched it move all on it's on.

“Whoa! Look at it go!” One of the girls piped up.

“I know right!” Nauka was just as giddy as them.

“Did you cast a spell on it?” Another girl asked.

“Nope! Strictly made from the elements all over us...well and a little bit of ingenuity-oh-oh! Watch this!” Nauka declared.

The cube jumped.

The girls, and Nauka gave a loud cheer, and very quickly they clambered over Nauka wanting to know how it all worked.

Nauka was more than happy to oblige, taking apart her little buddy and showing the girls the finer specs of her design. She instructed them on the proper mineral that she obtain to help conduct electricity to move the parts to and fro.

Nauka felt a warmth in her heart she hadn't felt before sharing her discoveries to someone that cared. It was a lot different than having someone praise her without any real consent. She felt maybe if this questing thing didn't work out perhaps she can at the very least make some money as a teacher.

The girls jotted down notes after notes but as the sun was setting Nauka knew her time was soon up as their mother waltzed in telling her kids it was time for dinner.

“Thank you so much for everything Nauka, the girls never looked so excited to learn” the mother replied.

“It was a pleasure, in fact I was more than happy to help!” Nauka assured.

“Well...I suppose this is good-bye, your children really are wonderful miss. I'm sure they'll be great scholars in the future” Nauka said.

“You're too kind, here...I want you to have this. It's the reward for all your hard work...I hope you use it well” the mother assured.

“I will indeed, well! See you soon I hope!” Nauka cheered waving good-bye as she gripped her envelope with her pay.

Walking away she was quickly joined by her party who were easily swayed by Nauka's positive attitude straight to the guild hall.

The next day Nauka woke up bright and early writing several notes in the dining hall. Serenity wearing her her sky blue button up wool pajamas consisting of a button shirt and short-shorts approached her Lady.

“This is the first I've seen you this early Lady Nauka” Serenity commented.

“Why yes! I was so enthralled at the thought of teaching that I decided to make a surprise visit to the Ureongakksi kids and teach them more” Nauka said.

“Really? They grew on you already?” Serenity asked.

“It may come as a surprise to you, but I felt like I could have done better, there wasn't nearly enough time to explain the mechanics or even the basics of my research, and I thought it would be best to not only plan ahead with notes, but also visit them earlier...maybe I can even give them homework!” Nauka was excited.

“So long as you are happy Lady Nauka, would you like me to prepare a breakfast for you to eat on the go?” Serenity asked.

“An excellent idea! Make it so!” Nauka cheered.

Nauka practically skipped her way dressed in her teacher's best putting her hair up into a neat bun, and wearing a knee-length dark blue office skirt with matching suit black panty hose and dark blue high heel slippers, and glasses that may, or may not be prescription.

...They weren't; she thought they made her look sexy and smart.

However as she reached the field where the Ureongakksi mother had resided she quickly realized that everything was gone. The shell was no longer there, a fleeting trail of flatten grass covered in slime showed the mother had left far north in the span of Nauka's sleep.

Nauka stared silently at the empty field, her grip on her notes weakening until it was gone entirely and her papers flew out of her hands and carried off into the wind.

She stayed there quietly to herself for a whole hour before returning home.

“Oh? Lady Nauka, you have arrived...earlier than expected” Serenity said.

“Y-yes-*sniff*-well I'm just that good of a teacher is all! Really!” Nauka assured.

“...Lady Nauka are you-” Trinity began.

“Well I must continue my work, I'll be in my office, I don't want to be disturbed the rest of the day, just knock when you finish preparing lunch, and that reminds me, thank you for the meal Serenity, it was very delicious!” She quickly said before marching over to her office, and locking the door.

She remained holed up in her office the rest of the day, with the only sounds eminating from the other side being a few frustrated grunts, deep sighs, and the tinkering of metal and the buzzing of electricity.

First chapter and quest were excellent! I love what she named her invention, it makes sense. Just know that in chapter 2 of A Fall to Grace Cleramelle will have words with her mother about Nauka.
