FanFiction Rules and Criticism Rules

Post by Tsar CUBE »

All of the general rules apply to this section of the forum as well as the following:

RULE ONE

Do not spam out short one-shots in different threads. If you are writing multiple short one-shots, keep them in the same thread. You can separate them using spoilers to keep things neat. Members of the staff reserve the right to combine your multiple one-shots into one thread if it looks like they are starting to clutter.

RULE TWO

Plagiarism will not be tolerated.

RULE THREE

If you want to have your work reviewed or criticism given, state so in the opening post of your thread. Those who wish to write a review or give criticism are ONLY permitted to do so if the author gave permission. If you write a review or criticism to a work of fiction where the author did not ask for one, there is a VERY high chance it will be deleted, unless the author of the fiction decides otherwise.

RULE FOUR

If you are giving criticism or writing a review, keep in mind that all the general forum rules still apply, if you write a review or give criticism that breaks any of the rules, in particular the trolling and flamming rules, your comment will be deleted and you will be issued a warning. If your review or criticism is tactless, the author of the fiction can ask for it to be removed even if they gave permission to write reviews and criticisms.

Trolling and flamming for the sake of attention whoring, in the guise of critiquing, is a serious offense and will not be tolerated. Depending on the severity of the offense, you may be permanently banned for breaking this rule.

RULE FIVE

Keep in mind that reviews and criticism are nothing more then the personal opinion of the one who gave them. You are not obliged to heed them or listen to them unless you personally find them useful in some way. Reviews and criticism should ONLY be given for the sake of helping the author of the fiction improve. If you attempt to force your view onto others and lash out at the author of the fiction for ignoring your suggestions, you may find yourself in violation of RULE FOUR.

Are we still enforcing this or not?

It only applies to small one shots, ie ones that have like less then 300 words... and before you say it, I have seen it happen before elsewhere but not here.
